With ftse wobbles and general sentiment shot through by the CLLN scandal and Capita troubles cannot see much headway in stocks today. Though the Dow had a dead cat bounce yesterday there's plenty of tinder out there waiting to be lit should the Fed aggressively raise rates and cut QE. The ftse is already down 155 ytd and the domestic 250 supposedly a better barometer of the UK economy trades down 2%. The dogs of Aim are barking to a different tune UP c.2% ytd. Against this background Idea has performed remarkably well but gains from here on in will be difficult despite our overseas focus. See little reason to alter my ye forecasts atm.

Never got near my 120 though the spread has contracted somewhat now inside a 1p which is good for traders. Still +5 to the good on wk which is going to be dominated by the bulls v bears assuming no newsflow from HQ. I did a quick bofp calc on Current Ratio which was 1.10 ie in the event of lenders demanding cash all at once a most unlikely event for this Co we should be able to get hold of £1.10 for every pound owed, not great but adequate. The higher the ratio the more liquid the Co. Some lenders require at least 1.5. Calc on H/Y nos as a bit of fun. Drawback is its a point in time calc (when the balance sheet is prepared) so can be adjusted....ahem!! to look good. CLLN wouldn't have done that would they? As ever a strong balance sheet makes for restful nights, so if your in a stock loaded up to the eyeballs in debt.....beware!

If the lack of interest carries on much longer.....best delist and go private. Drawback will be no MBS, so pis will be unable to trade their shares thanx to some Eurocrat directive. Not the best of options but the div policy could make up for this and getting out of Europe could free us from MIFID!

These late reported sells are becoming very annoying (172k@123). Looks like 120 on the cards.

Quick butchers over H/Y report intangibles of c.£37m caught my eye. That's steep given the other nos but could be explained by Ideas acquisition policy of buying other companies thus acquiring their patents & goodwill and being able to capitalise them which usually you cannot do as these are booked to expenses. What proportion of this is 'goodwill' that's the price paid exceeding the assets and liabilities of the acquired being booked I have no idea. Doubt there are any red flags as the accountants must be happy with Ideas recognition in the asset column. The sp could back off a touch today as holders lock in gains to date. At 120 I'm interested in topping up here.

Afternoon newandnaive. Yes I have a decent holding in at 80 so not been holding very long though I have been monitoring Idea since 50. I resisted the urge to buy in at that price as I have come a cropper in the past by buying on sight so to speak and then having to avd not a good tactic. Eventually I got fed up and bought in several tranches from 80 to 104. I agree it's a great little Co extremely well managed with solid fundamentals and great cash flow / margins considering its size. I just hope DH doesn't dilute us in a race to expand.Two blinding pieces of news flow instigated the sudden sp spike though it got ahead of itself and the inevitable retrace started today on very small volumes. That does not concern me unfortunately it seems the only way one can make money in stocks is by trading in the short term, longs of Co shares are a dying breed. It is a quiet bb and I considered giving up posting as I could not attract any other posters but will soldier on. I'm sure as Idea becomes more widely known others will join in. Idea deserves a decent forum to exchange views be it bull or bear. Another very good bb is Genel a Kurd o....lie where I have my two penines worth. Anyways feel free to add another perspective to this BB it gets tiresome talking to myself!

Very quiet up to half time just c.38k traded v 269k. Doubt there will be much movement from here on in, sellers happy to take 124 for their troubles.

Only 6k traded seems buyers and sellers have been satisfied for now.

Sales progress kicked into the long grass!

I remember years ago if you made a 5-6% return you would be deliriously happy. For sure times and economies change so would you be tempted to snatch a 14% return after just 5wks? With low inflation and more or less zero int rates would it be a sensible precautionary measure? Your fear and greed tolerance might cause you to act. I would say my greed /fear factor is evenly balanced if erring on the greed side. Hence 14%? Not for me when I fully expect the stock to continue its upward trend. I rarely use stop losses except in my head as I don't want my stop loss triggered by mm shenanigans! Works for some but not me. Buyers from 30 upwards have probably locked in profits or have long gone so I'd est the majority of pis have joined post 90. Still sitting pretty on 30+ gains but will now have to battle with yourself your worst enemy when it comes to selling a great stock. Selling dogs even at a loss is easy, boy I've done it a few times! Selling a riser is a whole new ball game.

Sp trimmed a tad the bid on 125, excellent for the day traders and twitchy long termers. Strange how a sp on the rise instills fear into pis frightened there going to miss the top or get caught out by the jobbers on a tree shake going south. With the sp up 12.5% since Thrs close it was ripe for trimming. As a long-term holder you can ignore the daily battle accepting what Mr Market gives you secure in the knowledge that a days sp performance is neither here or there. I don't intend to alter my 135-145 close for Idea atm. I'll await the end of June and reassess. It's way too early to make predictions my 135-45 was made at years end and really just for my own amusement. My best effort was in predicting the closing sp within 5p in a leisure stock last year. Do well to get near that with Idea! I have some ammo ready should the mm's take it lower tomorrow.

Sp got ahead of itself short term, sell vol of 380k might inc a 120k late reported sell. See if any buying occurs on the dips or will short termers lock in 5-8 gains today?

240k at mid'day buys 3:1 sp holding steady (123.8-124.75) for decent vols.

126.9 paid in early exuberance...60k traded so far. Looks an interesting day ahead.

Quite a lot of sellers were absorbed on Friday as Idea motored up 15 on the wk. Momentum and recent good press/ news flow should keep the party going but as we're all aware it ain't a one way street. Short termers might try and eke out a few more pence but I'm rarely if ever concerned with them. If you have turned a coin well done. Now move along please! DH rightly boasts of Ideas progress internationally so fingers crossed the US will lead the way for us in '18. Hopefully in the US Healthcare sector, with its massive budgets its a perfect area for Ideas software solutions. Can't remember when I was so bullish about a stock Oooops I can....jeez and that's in intensive care on a life support machine. Hmm...best forget that one!

I rarely buy tipped stocks..."where there's a tip there's a tap!" But they can be a source of good information on a stock you know little of. I don't buy the Mail so no idea if Midas has a good record or not. One would need to check. I know someone who bought into Microsec, a Midas tip at 40 odd, now c.3p ouch!! As ever there are no certainties in the stock mrkt, I just hope my winners leave me more in the bank at year end and if I get really lucky one multi bagger can wipe out lots of duff picks.

Wk/end press comment sure to get Idea off on the right foot first thing Mon morning so I expect Idea to hit FC target price of 120 pretty smartly. Momentum very much with Idea and you don't stand in front of an on coming train if your a bear of the stock, you either jump on board or stand aside and see your short monies heading for Carey St. Some say.....Idea is the bearer of too much good news which will eventually be self inflicting that investors will become immune swamped by goodwill and develope a laissez- faire attitude to whatever the Co does. I can see the pitfalls but don't subscribe to those views. Imo you cannot have enough good news and DH has been brilliant in updating inv on Co moves-----it's when the good news stops one should look out for! Perhaps DH might scale back on news of new client wins unless they are of a certain value, say £1m plus. Whatever far be bit for me to advise DH on newsflow as there's nothing quite like building your customer base -- the bed rock of securing jobs and Ideagens future. Tech investors are well aware of O'seas interest in the UK's successful tech companies and with Idea on a hardly demanding valuation will have attracted interest from prospective buyers. Consolidation among many companies is the 'go too' vibe for '18 we have seen it in bookmakers and retailers and Software services will be to the fore this year------probably among the lower tier stocks. I'd look to buy on any dips, averaging UP will make a pleasant change for me!

Rated a 'Buy' although the shares are up c.30% on pre buy tip they still trade at a discount to the peer groups consensus av forward PE and there us reason to expect more earnings enhancing acquisitions in the future. IC highlighted that Idea are moving away from low margin based contracts within the public sector and NHS where it takes 9 signatures to get a light bulb changed ( I kid you not ) and the 122% jump in SaaS to £10.8m. GRC will continue to play a strong part as a % of Ideagen sales. House broker Finn Cap forecast reported pt/profit of £3.2m to year 4/2018 up from. £0.7m in '17.
