If Truss makes it to the top spot could it be her Defence spending plans benefit MSi in the next year or so?

I'm not a technical analysis man, moving avs, oscillators, pivots and squiggly lines etc...but for those interested there's plenty of data on PAT as Geng alluded to yesterday.

All the major indices closed well up on Tues as many investors think the mrkt has 'bottomed' driven down by inflation, rate hikes, Ukraine & lockdowns in China. Earnings nos from a slew of big counters (IBM, GS, Hasbro, BOA & Halliburton) beat estimates.

US futures moved ahead after hours helped by the 50 DMA moving above its averages for the first time since April. Netflix nos pleased as the Co reported losing 970k subscribers in Q2, less than the projected 2m and unveiling its lower cost sub-ad supported by Microsoft expected next year. BOA reported a picture that the US consumer is in much better shape than pre covid, it's customer spend up 13% in H1 to over $2tn.

Vols on US Exchanges were 10•95bn (11•76bn) advances outpacing decliners (5:1). The S&P posted 1 new 52wk high and 30 new lows.

Yea I know all that it's just a quick picture of the way investors feel about a stock and in any event not to be relied upon.

A small uptick of interest started in wk 27 on W.African assay results/news. Since then buy interest has outpaced sells by c.5:1 but on a ytd basis sells are way ahead of any buying interest (68%/32%).

That gap amounts to c.4m trade difference which will be hard to pull back as sellers will continue to sell into any rises if the stock ever gets off its arse! I'm so far "out of the money" as to no longer worry about daily ups'n downs anymore. Ring me when PAT hits 13•50.

Either ways it looks like more delays and regrettably Bhukia is looking more and more a non starter if the Govt become involved. That's likely been the local Govts strategy all along.

Methinks we forget about these Indian shenanigans and concentrate on our W.African projects which to date have the 'ear' of a supportive Govt and offer shareholders prospects of a return!

Couldn't agree more Jim800. Its not as if we're hundreds of millions pounds in debt ....is it? A single customer for our oil has always been very high risk and tbf to management
they have kept the company finances
on an upward path, fortuitously or not we're still throwing off lumps of cash in a decidedly dodgy area to do business.

Bhukia, given the scale & size of the gold asset is obviously is the main focus of PAT investors interest despite our license application being rejected and delayed on numerous occasions over the years.

However our 100% owned Bassala project, assay results imminent could surprise us all. Three (3) drill prospects were completed and a large number of gold mineralised targets were identified. Mark Bolton said he was highly encouraged by the progess of the project.

From memory I think MB said a 650,000 ounce gold in ground asset could be profitably mined. With Bassala I'd expect that to be significantly exceeded.

Morning all.

Its an up'start to trading across Asia and Pacifica this morning after a much needed bounce in the USA as some earnings nos pleased investors. However a near certain 25 basis hike in rates in Europe this week tempers enthusiasm as dealers fret whether Russia will reopen Nord Stream 1 pipeline on Thursday which has been closed for maintenance.

Tokyo is closed for a national holiday but HK down for 5 straight sessions has surged near 3% on bargain hunting. China is up 50 reacting to news from the US that inflation is slowing and consumer spend remains strong but is held back due to increasing covid data and lockdowns.

Reporting 2Q nos this week inc big tckt items GSK, BOA, IBM,
N/FLIX, TESLA & TWITTER. Of the 35 SP companies reported to date, 80% have topped Walls estimates. Analysts expect 2Q y-o-y growth of 5•6%.

Unfortunately we're stuck in a duff sector with very little interest from the rest of the mrkt and getting hammered by the latest CPI news showing inflation running at 9•1%
y-o-y (PPI at 11•3% y-o-y).

Not good for Gold as the USD strengthens leaving Gold at 11 month lows. Talk of Gold capitulation isn't helping sentiment as investors price in a possible 100 basis point hike.
