10,000 filled at 5•70.

Stocks in the Pacifica are mostly higher but mrkts in China, HK and S.Korea are closed. Powells reassuring comments on Friday buoyed traders in Asia this morning.

Tokyo's significantly higher as investors seek out recently battered stocks. The 225 climbs 330 extending gains from the last 2 days, led by Panasonic, Canon and Honda Motors.

In Sydney Miners lead the ASX higher by over 70 points near close. Brent and Gold slip back. Of 16 analysts polled 9 were bullish on Gold but don't expect any immediate break out. Gold currently trades down $5 at $1724. The ftse is called up 12 later this morning, the Dow off 10.

Morning guys I have left a fill or kill order for Monday morning in the amount of £600 hoping that yesterday's falls were massively overdone.

Who would have thought on Jan 4th we would see Panthera at 5•45p? The previous year had seen the stock slump from 33 to 13 a considerable shock despite much good news.

Many, myself included were predicting a better year ahead, some going so far to talk of 100p. That I thought was a stretch but certainly revisiting previous highs was very much on the cards in view of much drill news ahead. I mean Panthera weren't coming up with 'dusters' every month were they?

Unfortunately we were up against a sceptical mrkt who were net sellers of WA junior gold stocks. We couldn't escape the bearish view and went down with the rest. Across the region WA 'goldies' were on average 40% down.

Yet, the company were coming up with the goods reporting encouraging drill and high grade assay results throughout 2021. These included 2 successful fund raises for £1•0m & £0•780m via placings. The Moydow restructuring (spin out of Kalaka and Nigeria) gave Panthera 50% and operatorship of a new entity Maniger was a terrific deal. We don't hear much about Nigeria but many say its the last great gold prospective region. Agreement reached with our joint venture partner (MMI) in respect of the Bhukia gold project passed by in a vacuum.

No doubt the highlight was a very advantageous $18m farm out agreement with DFR in August '21 securing the Labolla project and much of the funding to take Labolla -Cascades to the BFS stage and importantly limiting dilution for Panthera holders.

And there was more to come. A significant gold find at Cascades this week added to the bullish newsflow. That announcement sent the shares down 20%. Cynics were heard to say "could have been worse." Little wonder investors are cashing in their chips. However bad the mrkt thinks were doing the fundamentals and.... newsflow the lifeblood of Aim companies paint an entirely different picture.

The mrkt may have you believe the Company is drinking in the last chance saloon. I don't think so!

Nice one sporty66, very very cheap pick up!

Could well be LH. I've never been put off by large sells in fact quite the reverse. I've had two round ups this week and will add next week if it drops anymore. All the buying was done yesterday (564k) so doubt we will see much today being a Friday. Whatever a c.16% fall on the week to date looks well overdone.

A very determined seller out there just unloaded 309,167 at 5•55. Very smelly.

Agreed rugs some of the prices being taken, well I sure wouldn't accept. Maybe a few close to Co broker know something? Recent bullish drill & gold find news being completely ignored.

Think it's unlikely as we have been led to believe funds were in place through this year at least. But ya never know. Someone, somewhere knows something as the consistent volume of sells (1•176m) since the "significant gold discovery" all on the sell side doesn't compute. Mind you it could simply be that 'good news' is never recognised and true to form sellers dump the stock.

Bargains today are few (14) so I wouldn't put too much stock in a panic sell out or the likely hood of a rights/placing. We know its a possibility but not just yet. MB has been very quiet and I must say I wondered why he didn't make the announcement but left it to a DFR Director to give us the news, albeit not an official Panthera RNS release.

Regardless, not that one should take too much heed, since the announcement yesterday sellers have the upper hand by 2•6:1. In terms of the outstanding its miniscule!

Could just be another Panthera losing value day, he'll were used to them. Maybe nobody gives a toss anymore? Maybe I'm getting over excited? Maybe there's a simple explanation? Maybe MB will advise? Maybe...oh uckf it!

£170bn in excess profits by the utilities (Treasury figs) and whose going to foot the bill in the years to come? Not the utilities that's for sure. No we will through taxation and/or higher bills in the future.

Truss should have smacked a windfall tax on them and I don't buy this BS that they will up sticks or refuse to invest in the UK. Won't happen! They know the Govt is an easy touch and won't want to upset the gravy train of cascading cash and dividend returns long into the future.

Indeed especially the part when he said "your not in BK for 100K ozs" more like 1m ozs or words to that effect.

What's a long'term hold? Some say its a short term punt gone wrong. Bit of truth in that methinks. It's generally accepted a long'term holding is one of (1 year + 1 day).

In the US the average share holding is just 22 seconds thanks to computer driven high frequency trading. But outside of the algos, its c.5 months.

In the UK (last census 2021) the average holding period was 8 months down from 10 years in 1980. I'm in the long'term camp having held PAT since 3/21, a couple of others for over 5 years and one for over 10 years. Does that equate to your experience?

Despite hitting a two year low on Wed, Asia rebounded on better advices from the Street. Tokyo is well ahead at mid'morning gaining 550 boosted by motors and exporters. The Yen (143) cont to lose value now at 24 year lows v the USD.

Shanghai and HK are treading water but Pacifica are well ahead though crude stocks slipped on weakness in energy after oil prices tumbled. Chinese trade data missed forecasts (slower Aug trade growth) adding headwinds for the world's second largest economy still battling covid and lockdowns across the country.

US Services data released overnight reinforced investors expectations for a more aggressive pace of rate hikes from the Fed. Expect 75 basis at next FOMC meet (70% probability). Current rate (2•25%-2•50%) and perhaps as high as 4% by year end.

A good'ish day for PAT today though spoiled by a large 285,772 sell at 6•623p. Prior to that buys were well ahead of sells. Bargains dealt were 33 the equivalent of the last 10 days deals.

Always good to get a determined seller out of the way which resulted in buy vol of 564k v sell vol of 443k on the session, barring any late reported's. The stock slipped •05p closing at 6•80.

Although the share price hardly budged which i think most expected, for if you have been following other WA share price movements we are stuck in a bad place where the real time value of gold in the ground hardly represents the underlying value.

That's life I guess but as we know sentiment etc....can change in an instant, though i think relying on being bailed out by a surging gold price is a non starter if money keeps being pumped into the USD . As an early stage miner we havep little pressure outside of finding the stuff which should reassure investors that our team have an excellent track record in that regard and the rest will take care of itself, surging gold price or not!

I dont think the problem is getting investors to recognise the undeniable value of WA gold, more getting the mrkt to acknowledged that fact. If you tot up the mrkt assessment value of WA gold, it falls well shy of the intrinsic value investors apply to their gold holdings. Of the 6 WA stocks I follow are they in total worth just £103m?

Granted its an uphill struggle given the attractions of competing stocks not hamstrung by AIM considerations. However PAT has to be one of the better WA prospects at this stage. Our future from here is very much allied to DFR after the acquisition of Moydow and our free carry worth $18m (14•88p) subject to conclusion by Sept 2026.

I added again today for the umpteenth time since 2011 in the hope the mrkt will eventually rerate the stock.

I think this says it all.
.....the discovery at TT13 just one of many untested drill targets at the Cascades Project reinforces our confidence in being able to deliver a substantial gold resource here in due course....

We could have 30% of Labolla for a further $7•2m payment and importantly no dilution. Recent gold find leads me to believe we will take up our option in due course. Very good news.

At the close the DJI ended firmly negative the averages closing at their lowest level in over a month. A report in the WSJ said investors around the world are piling into US stocks as they say there's nowhere better to shelter from turbulent global mrkts. This could be significantly bearish for Gold in a very ugly mrkt environment.

London was awaiting the new PMs first statement which was short and to the point. Speaking outside Downing St she said she would be hands on with the energy crisis, cut taxes, reduce the burden on families and put the NHS on a firm footing.

All of these laudable ambitions will depend on whether the economy can grow under these dire circumstances. The pound hit $1•145 its lowest level in years. The yield/int rate on 10yr gilts jumped to 3•024% a level last seen in 2014 indicating investors are demanding a higher rate of return for holding Govt debt.
