Phase 3 hasn't started yet and it will be at least 15th Nov before it can start (depending on IND application).

The hospital arm of the phase 2 trial took 9 weeks to be completed in the UK only.

Phase 3 will have alot of money thrown at it
Will be in 20 countries (including UK and USA) so should be no shortage of patients.
Have Parexel Biotech a specialist in trials using their resources to accelerate completion.
NIHR advise that the Phase III trial has been badged in the UK as Urgent Public Health and will be recognised as a National Priority study.

This will be a very fast Phase 3 IMO.

Yes Sparkle us PIs have the open offer of £7 million quids worth between us. The rest of the placing is going to the big boys.

Whats great is Synairgen if everythings approved on 2nd Nov in the GM will have all the cash in the bank by 4th November.

Some info on IND approval and some key points

'The Company plans to file an IND application as soon as possible to allow the Phase III study to be initiated'

Not sure how long this will take but we need it to be fast as -

FDA rule - Once the IND is submitted, the sponsor must wait 30 calendar days before initiating any clinical trials. During this time, FDA has an opportunity to review the IND for safety to assure that research subjects will not be subjected to unreasonable risk.

Once IND is granted Doctors can request it on an emergency use on a per patient basis. This is granted if they cannot add them to the clinical trial.

Emergency Use IND allows the FDA to authorize use of an experimental drug in an emergency situation. Now that we will have manufacturing/distribution covered and once we have adequate supply we could potentially qualify for this. So a full completion of phase 3 trial may not be required.

The placing is in the form of an accelerated bookbuild.

An accelerated bookbuild is a method whereby the offering of new shares in the equity or capital market is done within a short period. The bookbuild of the offering is completed quickly, often within 48 hours or less. This method provides an offer to a company or an investor to purchase stocks in the equity market in a short period of time.

The final number of Placing Shares will be agreed by finnCap, Numis and the Company at the close of the Bookbuild and the result will be announced as soon as practicable thereafter. It is envisaged that the Bookbuild will be closed no later than 4.30 p.m. on Thursday 15 October 2020.

In a nutshell the placing will be snapped up by large II's by end of day tomorrow by the sound of it. Expect multiple TR1s shortly. I suspect Numis already had loads of II's lined up ready to invest.

In order to keep existing PI's happy they have an open offer of 7 million for us to add to our positions at 1.75.

Boris is in a no win situation politically. He can either

a) U-turn and go full lockdown. Makes him look weak and can be accused of having no plan. Makes Labour look like the party with the answers.
b) Carry on with the current Tir system lockdown and when it turns into a disaster will re-enforce his poor leadership/judgement. Makes Labour look like the party with the answers.
Or
c) Pull something out the hat like a new therapy or new antigen test for example to turn the tide. ;)

Im hoping this gambit makes Boris do something unexpected.

Labour want a full lockdown, Starmer putting Boris under huge pressure to follow the scientific advice. Boris must be cursing Whittys words last night :)

I suspect much of the price rise yesterday was due to PI momentum from the twitter screenshot of the apparent Numis broker note advising at least 10 quid a share.

If you follow this board many of us have done research showing circumstantial evidence something may happen on the 15th. I think pmjh from memory summarised these points in a post yesterday. This may have some impact on this board but doubt it would have that greater impact to make a 60p rise or so.

The other theory is the US II's have stopped trickling their shares into the market putting selling pressure and reducing the SP.

Quite a number of comments today from Boris giving the impression the plan A of a vaccine getting the country back to normal is not looking good.

In the statement today Boris mentions again what happens if no vaccine comes and mentions science and new therapies/testing. Whitty confident going into next winter (I hope he means this coming one lol) we will be in a much better place science wise.

Looks to me there is a shift in government thinking starting to happen that vaccines are not the holy grail.

Chris Whitty admits even with Tir 3 local lockdowns it will not be enough to stop the virus.

"I am not confident - nor is anybody confident - that the Tier 3 proposals for the highest rate, if you did the absolute base case and nothing more would be enough to get on top of it."

Yes was stopped in the USA as well. In the lab it had a 100 fold increase over remdesivir in reducing viral load so the potential for a drug like this with a metal compound like Bismuth is a big find. There is a good chance other similar drugs can be repurposed.
