RE: India To Buy Sh356.5bn Tullow Oil Stake In Turkana2 Aug 2022 19:25
Er no.
Those who want this merger to go through should be careful what they wish for. The exchange rate is too generous and that's before Kenya or Guyana are taken into account.
Not a bad day really, most of this news was to be expected. Bagged more at 700p, money is better in here than a bank where I would be guaranteed to lose around 15% due to rates and inflation.
If a Kenya deal is completed and or a successful drill in Guyana is announced - where does this leave the merger? As the SP exchange ratio of 3.8068 shares is now too generous.
Another angle to consider and question to ask could be - Will the British Government be sending overseas aid to countries that are trading with Russia? As Lawrence has stated , we need consistency on this matter.

Nathan, This could be a reasonable question to follow up with. Do the British Government impose sanctions on every country that instigates an illegal invasion of an other country?
There are increasing reasons to be cautious here. Are the merger and the Kenya project interconnected ? Lack lustre PR, only averaging 87usd PB and recession fears.
