It was a dreadful update, most of it was expected but the production guidance is worrying for the longs. A few years ago there was talk of TLW nearly going bust - but this was never going to happen as the big boys are in it together, so the company was restructured just to pay the debt and this tactic is still evolving at the expense of the SP.

You have good reason to dread this update

Oil does not track inflation, if it did the price would continuously rise. In contrast, all Fiat currencies lose their purchasing power over time.

Trump like all politicians is just a puppet - they do as they are told by the bankers. Why would SA want lower oil prices, they and their allies are supposed to be breaking away from the petro-dollar.

I wouldn't bet on things looking better. They nay even delay releasing 2025 production guidance as it could be less than 50kbopd.
