This has been discussed before and that's why any deal is better than relinquishing the asset.

This is the problem - TLW can't get partners to sign up until the FDP is approved - and the Kenyans know this.

Previously the Kenyan government stated that the reason for the hold up is because TLW do not have the finances to bank roll the project.

Why would anyone want to buy this out in a T/O....

If it gets a deal done and TLW can claim back costs then let the Kenyans have 50%.

They have tried to sell it before but there were no takers. Now it is unclear if TLW own the other 50% that the JV partners walked away from.

The bottom line is that any deal that leads to oil production will transform TLW and the SP, simply because as per the contract TLW can incrementally claim back over $1B in expenses.

TLW have spent over $2B on the Kenya project - compare that to the current market cap.

I hope you are right, the longs are due some reward.
