I previously said if the sp went above 1700p I would not dodge this divi but it now seems to be on a slow decline from its high of 1750p ish so a dodge may be on

Yes CT your right it looks like the unloved sectors are coming back in favour of course the likes of Shell BP ect are cash machines at the moment and pension funds ect will be expecting some of this cash back hence the rise in the sp. I think the rise still has further to go especially imb as back in May last year the sp was 1674p before ex divi

Yes your right Pat the divi is still good at this price it could be a few reasons all together which is pushing the price up and of course as pi will be the last to know

I agree with you sidi and the rise does seem to suggest that there could be some news on the horizon I don't think a take over or a buyout simply because of the nature of the business but maybe just better profits just my opinion

In for the long term now did dodge the last two divis but think will hold for the next one have a feeling the price may move more yet.

Yes sidi not to long for next divi I think if virus can be contained market should rise will be some hiccups along the way my feeling is if this goes 1700 plus I think a divi dodge could be risky but if more restrictions are imposed then a divi dodge would be on the cards

Yes sidi I was a tad lucky to last time bought back in when the market dropped on covid fear looking at what Boris is doing now I do not think there will be more restrictions my feeling is if the sp goes over 1700p I think I will hold for the divi as the sp is back to where it was before the last divi in the past it has not recovered. Maybe just maybe the tide is turning of course just my opinion

Think the market might be wising up to the divi dodge on this share 12_18 months ago it was quite easy to do and worked to the dodgers benefit
Maybe just maybe it might be coming back into favour again as an income share for some of the fund managers

Hi Sidi took the plunge this morning 8.36 lol bought back at 1559.369p where do they get these figures from!!!
From my proceeds took out the dividend I would of received and invested the rest got 31 extra shares at this rate if share price stays about the same looking 2yrs or so to get capital back lol
It keeps me busy ha ha

I used to hold but now as I get my pension next year I am dealing a bit more
When I look back at some ftse 100 companies this one in particular the last 10yrs or more share prices are down so now I don't think it pays to hold long term anymore take profit when you can

Yes this has not dropped like it has in the past but did fall to 1555p first thing maybe tomorrow will see profit taking and a fall
