Halifaxs share service have just confirmed that cineworld have denied breakup talks
Agree with you CWWX i think mookey will use any legal loophole he can to prolong c11 in the hope of getting the balance sheet into positive territory then try to renegotiate the loans If i owned 20% of the company thats what i would try to do Just my opinion GLA
The times reported this morning that cinema chain the vue could be interested in cw prior to a floatation
Hi wolf now i know why i did not get payed lol Done it many years ago interest rates were extortionate
I heard provident reps have been calling on cineworlds asking if they want to take out loans ::-}
Yes 666 your right use your isa allowance first if in the same year you have used your isa allowance then have an unexpected share windfall for me this has never happened lol I think this is what finchy was asking about
Finchy8
As long as you have submitted a tax return and have shown a loss on an investment you can use this loss in the next tax year ie say you made a 20k loss on an investment when you sold it in the 2020-21 tax year then the following tax year 2021-2022 yo made a 20k profit on a share sale no CGT would be payable but you only have 4yrs to use up your losses i am sure thats how it works but do check hmrc website to clarify hope this helps
Jing
Finchy8 unfortunately you cannot back date CGT if you have used all your CGT for the year you can use the 30 day rule to mitigate CGT but this does come with some risks
To anybody in the know
Was thinking to transfer shares from my share dealing account to share isa to mitigate capital gains tax then read the 30 day rule which i read as thus day 1 sell the shares day 31 buy shares back day 32 sell shares and transfer funds to bank account and no cgt payable if applicable
Have i read this right thanks in advance

Hi I hold a few cw shares I want to transfer to my share isa from share account done a few dummy sales and purchases as the spread is big I could be anything from £500 to a grand out of pocket anybody have any ideas thanks
Jing
Of course shazabo i would like to think that people investing in stocks in situations like cineworld should be aware of the risks and could lose all their money like you i had written off my investment but if it recovers hey ho happy days
yes lets hope they do mag49 i think mooky working on a deal to preserve his 20% or he would of just walked away by now.
If i had built a company up to be the second largest in the world i would fight tooth and nail to preserve my stake in the company . His business model was working well before virus hit paying dividends and making lots of cash no reason why it cannot go back to this as always dyor
good luck all
Quote cineworld has just reached a settlement with lenders in the states and the shares have rallied but whatever the final outcome for investors in the company short sellers will have made some serious money. For the record no new short positions have been taken out in cineworld since august The last sentence has to be good news for lth

Halifaxs share dealing service 2.91p to sell going up ........
Let's hope the slate of films coming out in the next few months puts some dosh in the kitty to give them some leverage over the lenders
Totally agree lmulhare mooky will fight tooth and nail to preserve his 20% and a d4e will be the last resort it will be interesting to see how it all plays out
