Decent enough artlcle but I disagree with much of it. VR industry is in it's infancy. Wanting everything from day dot is not how it works, things need time to develop. I think if she revisits everything she has discussed in 1 year, she would have a different view. Elon Musk said it best when he said one thing for certain we know about predicting the future is that we'll get it wrong.
Her main argument seems to be that companies are simply filming the standard experience of a music gig but in VR. AM has stated that a large % of what they are now working on is creative, unique and very different to simply filming gigs in VR, which is what she alludes to as being negative in her article.
'While applications like MelodyVR and Oculus Venues are critical early steps in setting the tone for future VR music experiences, they arguably fall short by cloning incumbent business and design practices from the "real-world" entertainment industry into a medium that has far more technological potential.'
As you say Robi, I don't think the author has seen the Pixie Lott piece.
In terms of consumer appetite for 'live', she needs to look at revenues generated to know it's a market space that will pay to replicate, original experience or not.
