I listened to the today prog and got to feeling that there was little chance of our parliament agreeing to what deal is proposed. My opinion is that if you sign up to a deal then a) you can move on and b) you can still tweek it over time. Party politics should not be the main consideration except it is, what a shame, the little guy suffers and pays for it

some on here are well down - there are posts suggesting it should be £8/9/10 - you cannot see where this is going and you don't have the comfort of divs. and yes I am still holding these - would love to see it rise to £4/5 again

cannot see any deal being accepted by parliament - labour don't want to be blamed and ruin their election chances so will go against - looks like it will be an extension - and markets will not like that IMO

I don't think you should see this as a mature bank because of course its not, so a comparison with Lloyds/Barclays/RBS is misleading. MTRO is still very young and for me it represents a gamble but one worth taking. If you say hold Lloyds you could see a rise of 20/30% in the next 12 months whereas MTRO might rise by 100/200 % in the same timescale. MTRO could be the best share you have held GL

It is a shame that we are not in a more settled period as we would get a better understanding of the prospects for the Pru group after the split. I would expect to see a rise in the sp this week if things were more normal. GLA

rbs came out of it well. A couple of years back the sp would have been hammered.

Never hurts to remind ourselves, you read on these boards how desperate some are to see the sp rise, and sometimes they need it to rise by 2/3/4/500% to break even. Of course if you can afford to lose then no problem. If you are not already then you may like to read stuff on Metro, scary. All the best.

Please do not invest everything into RBS or indeed in any one share. Overnight something can happen to destroy any stocks price and you can find yourself with very little. Always keep some cash for a rainy day. It is good to have a sum equal to at least 3 months income ( salary or pension) available for unexpected expenses. There is no guarantee in a recession that dividends will continue. GLA

Are we sure that they are locked in to paying that rate for the whole term? Are there circumstances where they can redeem and not pay the full 9.5%? Can the bond be converted to Metro shares if say the price rises to 500/600/700 or whatever? Just maybe its a better deal than we realise. Any thoughts?
