PPI made some careers 30 years ago and it was fueled by greed and aimed at the less financially educated.

Dirk, to help my education on the markets, were you of the opinion that the sp will fall? Lets say the trading update gives better news than the markets expect and we see a rise to 260, will you come back in? If the news is not so good and the sp drops to 220(or lower) will you be a buyer then? You have sold before the news, so I would like to understand why. Can you please share your thoughts. magicpuppy you may want to buy today - it could be that the new chairman wants the glory of showing how well things are going - a bounce more likely Thursday - you will kick yourself when it opens on 250. DYOR

Barc announce 24 hours after RBS, our bank is drawing away in terms of sp.
My money is on a RBS bounce following on from the trading update.

Pru +MNG =approx £16 so we have gained from demerger. The sp's are adjusting as markets decide on value. Prospects good for both although I favour the Pru.

Dogger sells for a profit. GLA

I am inclined to believe there will be no surprises on Thursday and the sp will remain steady which will be good news.
It would be nice to see 250 this week if say the PPI figure comes in lower than expected.

Cannot see £900m bothering the market if that's the fig but the net trading fig will be of concern if it indicates profits are falling. The sp rise suggests all is well, fingers crossed.
