It suits me as I have been a nervous investor with MTRO and it makes sense for me to buy more. And I am only striking a note of realism.

BlahBlahDoh seeing the figures for divs just the basic without the special makes it a very good yield and warrants a lift in the sp, between now and payment. At its current price it is attractive to investors looking for income IMO

To UK banks it will not be 2 million new customers as people don't have one bank. MTRO would have more appeal to a foreign bank or say Insurer( UK or foreign). IMO

Good Luck Dogger, very pleased to note the action you have taken. I'm an oldie and the biggest mistake I made with investment was to spend 2 years hoping when it was clear action was where the solution was to be found.
I think we may well see a rise to 300/350 for MTRO in the short term.

Been out since 9am so only now seen that it got to 285,however when it was as low as 159 only a short while ago I see this as very positive. I'm starting to believe it can get back to 500+ and with an offer who knows. Yes Fantastic. GLA

Investors appear to be accepting any takeover is likely to be about months not days, and the share is underpriced however you view it.

I wonder how active are investors in buying and selling RBS to get there average down? Today the sp low was 215.60 and high 218.4 would anyone have tried to use that narrow range to improve the number of shares held. Capital Growth is my aim and the dividend is a welcome bonus allowing more shares to be bought in RBS or elsewhere. Advice would be very much appreciated. I would be thinking in terms of say 15000 RBS shares.

Had to be in High Wycombe today, so called into the MTRO branch. Asked about savings accounts for my grandchildren, very helpful and yes a pleasant conversation. The woman told me about the account, together with the rate, and a novel idea where they give a bonus of £5 to youngsters who add pennies to the account. Suggest all on here who have not been into a MTRO go and take a look. Ignoring rumours of takeovers it reinforced the impression of a well run bank.

On the way now, just when I wanted to see 300
