Thanks to you both. I chose to sell some of my RBS bought just before it went xd and so got a 10% gain. Likewise sold out of my Metro today again for 10% gain in a shorter period. Colti's advice was not seen by me in time in that I missed the huge rise in Greggs which is careless on my part. I say that because I had been looking to invest there a few months back, there you go.

You know how money invested in AIM stock feels so much more risky, well IMO we can sleep soundly. Only a few days ago I talked on here of selling for a very modest profit, but then thought maybe if I buy more then in a way the risk is reduced as need a smaller % rise to be making more profit. Ratknapp/ymas I agree all posts have value and yes I saw the irony in my request. The posts that are most annoying that repeat and repeat, what I look upon as lazy posts. Some posters could be seen as thugs and impact the Doggers of our board. And yes you can argue even the thugs have value. It does depend how awake you are. GL to you both.

Earlier I made an untrue statement about takeover of MTRO. It was intended as a wake up call to all, it may have worked a little bit. The so called positive group have been repeating talk of takeover with NO FACTS and not even CURRENT RUMOURS. I believe there may now be a foundation behind the current sp and scope for a modest rise without rumours.
Please let us be honest in our posts.

If you believe Boris will get a clear majority then I suggest a visit to the bookies.
My impression is that the Tories are making a mess of it and Farage is going to help cause 'no overall majority'.
To be honest any party getting a clear majority is scary.

You have those who are telling us that we will make our fortune in a matter of weeks. On the other hand we have posters telling us we are suckers and will lose everything, or something close to that. Having made an investment in EUA my intention was to add more, but my balanced opinion is to hold what I have pending clarification. If it rises to above 5p I will have a nice profit, similarly if it drops to under 1p it won't be the end of the world for me. 5p = nice holiday; 10p = new car

I was about to buy some Tesco shares. As part of my research I was in high Wycombe so visited the large store, to be honest it looked downmarket and lacking on stock. I was in the market for a simple mobile phone but the ones on display that I liked were out of stock. Now seeing your discussion on jobs I won't be investing. Thanks for your honesty.

Starting to consider reducing my exposure with RBS in the run up to the election. My idea is to sell at least half my holding, keeping the cash ready to invest. It could do wonders for my average, buying in after the election and give some piece of mind. As a long term investor this would be a new approach for me. I suppose what I am asking is "does anyone belief the RBS sp will rise by more than 5% between now and the 12th of Dec.

Andyagogo not sensing that the general election run up is impacting this share, see it as most relevant to the banks. Longer term my opinion is that whilst MNG are well administered their funds leave something to be desired in terms of performance, the Pru are the better bet. IMHO

If you think about this, it is not going to be a show stopper in terms of the amount. The FCA are not looking to cripple this bank but put it on the straight and narrow. It will more likely involve close ongoing supervision. IMHO
P.S. some experience in working for a (large) financial institution when visited by the regulator SIB.
