Well mate I totally misjudged the sentiment here when I supported this at 12.25 and again at 11.9p. The news alone, even on AIM, I thought was not worth more than 30% off sp, esp when I had the sp ready for recovery at 16.5p.. So you could be right... Maybe that's what the BOD need, and maybe a lower bottom will mean a bit of bounce-back (but then again there are a lot of people claiming to be getting out at the earliest opportunity, so could lead to a bear trap bumping along for quite a while). Anyway, I'm still targeting this back at circa 15p in 3-4 months when the dust settles - the warning is usually always worse than the reality. Patience, patience...!

Again, fair points. But the communications and cost-controls with newer subdivisions can of course be fixed with standard blue prints for programme/projrect controls, good governance and finance best practice. You might be right re the need for change but I say fundamentally this is not a sub £10m marcap business and it would take more than a cost control/internal communication FU like this for me to concur that the BOD is fundamentally inept. I have no reason to stand by any of the BOD so I'll go with whatever fixes the problem - however the problem isn't the low SP. The problem is internal and a cosmetic fix to boost the SP will be worse than leaving the board to solve this. I'd say take the temperature in 3-4 months and if the SP is still down here then yes, sure heads should roll...

Taking the RNS at its word: "impacted by excessive freight charges and other incremental costs incurred to meet delivery times on a number of recent contracts." - this reads to me that freight had to be expedited either due to PPP or other snafus. Honestly these kind of losses can be ironed out if the BOD are serious about growing the business. Not saying they are the right people but job 1 is build a viable top line - assuming the top line growth is viable, and who cares whether it comes from acquisition or growth - they already said in Feb components were flat and I assume would remain so - well assuming the top line can be tuned into profit then it's not as thought he wheels have fallen off the cart. I could regret posting the last bit but honestly, does this business deserve to lose over a third off its value from what's posted in that statement? Really?

That's it exactly, they need some space to fix bottom line, pricing is a great example sahid - one notch too far the wrong way and you lose the customers, one too far the other and profits are hit. Most cases I've seen it can be tuned, give the BOD a bit of space to sort it out and we could still get there. Thanks for the heads up on trading statement I have been a passive investor until more recently due to my work commitments but now have some time to meddle on forums etc. Something this side of Christmas would be lovely.

All fair comment chocchip, and couldn't agree more that there has to be a period of reflection, sort out the issues, embed acquired businesses properly and truly get a grip on costs. All that said they are where they are and us shareholders are there with them. I made a decision not to cut my losses and averaged down instead, based on the fact that there still is a good business here. Ie I believe the problems are fixable and the mess is a worthy mess as in they had to find a way to grow the top line or strangle themselves, and they did it, however they did it.

Yesterday I would have said it hit bottom due to the buying but today am not so sure. Fundamentally I still like the look of this business. I hear all the gripes but APC had to grow the top line, and it says it has. Would have been nice to have a taste of the profitability today but every business I've been directly involved with focussed on top line first, bottom line second. Guess a big worry for itchy AIM holders at least is the time scales now. August year end means FYR by end Feb. That's a long wait and potentially a lot of drift waiting to hear how bad things actually are. Would hope the BOD see the urgency here and get some statements and guidance out in the public domain - maybe even get the results out quicker - after all they don't *have* to use the full allotted 6 months and they manage in 3 months on the main market...

Look at it another way. Trading statement end of July. An unexpected project cost incurred during July would not hit finance dept till next month, so lax cost controls in a recently-acquired unit one explanation. Or the cost may not have been incurred until this month. At these levels a few hundred k or so can be difference between modest op and loss. Factor in fx etc means the BOD can be forgiven for not knowing this was around the corner. Not saying they are not playing shysters but there are also plausible explanations for this F.u.

Pessimism can magnify the disappointing news but I'm much more optimistic this afternoon than I was this morning. 1. No hint of a cash crisis: "The Board believes that its current facilities are more than sufficient to support the business." 2. Rout *looks* to have bottomed out (I think it's only a couple of buys short of regaining a notch - IMO, DYOR, etctec) 3. Thinking about the wording of, and possible reasons for issuing this statement makes me hope it's going to be the extent of the disappointing news 4. All markets overshoot/overeact and AIM is certainly no exception Personal views, GLA.

"Still no interest" and "sub 9p" ???? you make no sense. 1. There is buying interest around 12p... 2. MM are now stacked for a rebound, a few more buys should soak up the few CFEP has and we should see close above 12p IMO. Just my view of course, GLA.

With that second 100k delayed trade support looks even stronger. 49.5% buy vs 50.5% sell. Could be wrong but really doesn't look headed to 10p...

Hope not. Personally thought I saw the bottom at 12p. With the recent delayed buy (yes I checked the record it is still a buy at Ask at time of trade) it's not actually looking as bleak as it might feel. 478,060 (45%) buy vs 588706 (55%) sell. Might be wishful thinking but this looks reasonably well supported at high 11s , might even move up to low 12s... Re-reading the RNS it really doesn't sound disastrous. They obviously felt compelled to release a statement, possibly because news of the "operational review" had leaked?? In perspective it could turn out to be a minor blip - at least not 28%-in-the-red bad it looks right now...

Good to see lots of buying at this SP. 332,600 buys vs 318,635 sells this morning so far... Might well be the bottom already (short sharp shock), as Fred points out the news isn't disastrous, the market probably overreacted. GLA

Note the wording in my previous post "asking AIM investors to ride out zero profit or a small loss with dilutions affecting EPS" - I was referring to the placings in the year just closing, not inferring any new placings. EPS calculations will obviously have to take into account the enlarged share capital going forwards. That's all I was sayin'

Many thanks - they had a buy rating at 36p target I see (surprising, given the OP in the interims). On paper the macro corporate strategy doesn't seem too bad long term, execution doesn't inspire confidence though the transparency via RNS is appreciated. Short term looks like a very rocky ride - asking AIM investors to ride out zero profit or a small loss with dilutions affecting EPS when the profit finally kicks in... Is there anything in the pipeline that will make investors happier between now and finally seeing some operating profit which won't be confirmed in results end of May next year?

Net profit forecast zero, do you or anyone have a reference? Read the interims and trading statements all of which talk about expectations quite a lot but none seem to hang their hat on break even for the full year... I probably missed something though. RNS talks about expectations in the previous trading update, which itself talks about expectations but no numbers...!

Nearly 4m shares traded in 2 large trades just below mid price shortly before close. Shouldn't be directors as they are almost certainly in close period preparing the interims (plus MJ doesn't hold that many..). Insight, anyone?
