Just wondering if this sort of contract renewal would usually warrant an RNS, or is it put out given the poor sp performance and possibly to improve sentiment prior to missing targets?
Be interested if anyone feels this will have any positive impact.

I think the market also wasn't impressed with reduction in revenue in capita experience due to covid and attrition on lost contracts.
Some on here feel it might have been laying the foundations for missing their target.
My fear is that the markets are already very impatient with the turnaround so missing targets will be seen as bad news.
The one thing I do hope is that the tone and positivity of the release is much better than December.

Was just looking up the institutional investors reported positions on stockepedia and noticed they have 2 separate investments.
Could this be relevant to why we haven't had another RNS recently because theyve been recently selling from the smaller holding, or are both funds added together to give a total holding.

Is a 30% fall from 12th January justified?
None of the others, Sainsburys, Tescos, Next have fallen anywhere like this.
Surely they're affected by inflation too.
Isn't MKS supposed to be relatively immune given its customer base.
When they maintained their profit guidance in January, inflation must have been a consideration.
I'm now fearful this is going to get taken back down to levels prior to their profit increase guidance statement last year.
I really thought 218 was a half decent price to be averaged at, now I'm not too sure.

Just read the March 5th 2020 rns again and doesn't this quote seem familiar from more recent rns releases?

The price did spike to 115 very briefly which is the reported transaction price.

Canetoad, I think you're right in that this is not a well privately invested company in the UK, but they don't have large amounts of debt, the interest payments are more than manageable by the looks of it, cant see it halving in value based on a US correction.
It just seems to be wandering aimlessly, not helped by shorts that are playing it every day, you can seen by the amounts of buys/sells , often a figure like 316 shares sold x 6 times for example.

It is baffling as to why short interest is so high given the business is improving, Increase in revenue, Mastercard revenue not yet included, entry to Saudi 1st quarter, whats not to like ?
Personally my holding is way too high and am desperate to reduce but need 310 just to break even, when that eventually happens again, this year or next I will reduce and then hold the balance long term.

Yes probably time to ask them what on earth has been going on for the last few weeks.

This is my largest holding, stupidly, I'm sitting with 300k shares at 37, however 2 weeks ago my average was 40, I have using the volatility to average down each opportunity.
Like yesterday, bought 40k at 30.06 in morning, set limit order to sell them at 30.8 and they sold later at 30.9 (price I was given). So another % off my average.
Still very uneasy and woukd rather a smaller holding , but will hold until next year if that what it takes.

Does having a large source of annual revenue coming from goverment contracts help the long term sustainability of this company?
If it does then I can't really see CPI going under or anything like that, it just might take slightly longer for the turnaround to materialise.
So has to be a long term hold.

I was sitting on a 16k loss with NEX for ages got out for a 6k profit and reinvested in MKS when it had dropped a few weeks ago, at 220 from 250, but it continued dropping and now 197 and NEX is 285.
Not too concerned because MKS is definitely on the up again.

Not sure if we will get one but may get an RNS confirming the SFO fiasco is over as final payment of fine due by tomorrow, not sure if that would warrant an RNS.

Having watched the first episode of the above last night, about a guy who develops an algorithm focused on one human emotion, fear, my absolute contempt for sky news in particular has increased fourfold.
It's true that financial markets have been run on fear the last couple of years which has led to hedge funds and IIs being able to cash in on fearful PIs.
No doubt that sky news will be in full throttle tomorrow and this week, and the volatility will continue until it just stops.
I personally have already made a massive mistake in selling a share recently that I held for almost a year ( at a minimal profit) because it just didn't seem to move north at any sustainable rate, and now it is, and the shares I've reinvested the funds in are extremely down. So the waiting begins again.
With PFC I'm not making that mistake again, I have 2 large holdings ( one in an ISA) and both averaged at about 123, so not far away, but I'm waiting this out at least until next year as the dividend statement ( paragraph) in the half year results gives me encouragement that when dividends do resume, this current price will be history.
Hopefully an RNS tomorrow isn't cancelled out by a very red day.
