Could be River and Mercantile getting rid of the rest of their holding.
Based on sentiment today, eg Serco, and large buys, this should have bounced somewhat.
But it's similar to the last month.
Possibly CPI could benefit from Goverment military contracts ( in ways that they are able to help) given there is bound to be an increase in defence spending.
I'm not holding my breath for this share to even get to 40s this year, great results would help, but anything other would result in weak SP until a turnaround is proven and shows in the numbers.

Drive the price up to then drip sell their newly borrowed shares, I hope they really suffer in some way.

I think I read at previous trading update that fuel is hedged until 2023, so not an immediate worry.
But wage inflationary pressures could have an impact.

To be honest I'm more cool and collective than I was last week about CPI, partly reading your post yesterday, but also because I'm so down accross my portfolio, 6 figures accross it all, 5 figures in 3 including CPI.
It is a dire dire day, RR , Melrose, NEX, ABDN, all getting hammered today.
The way things are looking, the unthinkable ( a world war with Russia) is a very real possibility.
Putin is coming accross as someone with nothing to lose, that's how he seems to be acting.
My feeling is this will only end in either war with the west, or by some of his own stopping him.

Markets tanking today, apart from Serco!

All seem to have got a boost today, this should partly fall within that category but seemed to get overlooked, as did RR today.
Both should benefit from an increase in defence spending.

He posted 7p in 21 and 5p in 20, does the same on other boards. I think he's a wannabe city boy, with 1.2 litre corsa with a twin exhaust that works in kwik fit.

Thanks for that further info too, completely makes sense what you're saying, even the likes of stockepedia stops at 1%.
Personally I had already decided to ride it through because even if March 10th is not good and cpi are whacked by 25%, we're still I the 20s where we are now.

I do believe you, and you're right, I wouldn't be able to pay such premiums.
To be honest it's good to know what you stated, and I'm sure PIs on here would all appreciate any snippets like that , as and when.
I was thinking the same regarding the II that just reduced.
Schroders have just reduced in another one I hold, Petrofac, who knows possibly to increase here.

That's the part that I'm really uncomfortable with TBH. It defies logic sometimes, it is most definitely unloved by the markets and an easy target to take down.
Others have said that without concrete news to confirm turnaround will happen, it tracks the FTSE.
Friday there was a big bounce in the afternoon for no obvious reason other than it woke up late to the FTSE rally on Friday, as prior to the afternoon it was drifting as usual.
The RNS on Friday confirmed an II reduced their holding from over 5% to 0.71% which isn't a good show of confidence with results out next week.
Recently it has not reacted to well to positive RNS releases, I'm just hoping that the results next week confirm a decent material reduction in debt, and that there is no further reduction in revenue / contracts in the Capita Experience division.

Offloading their 19% stake which was worth 14 Billion but now half if they're lucky.
Companies looking to move well away from Russia for future energy supplies, exploration etc.
Looks like PFC will not be pursuing the agreement with Gazprom, hopefully any future contracts weren't priced in.
Might be good for the likes of PFC for alternative means of exploration, and types of energy.
Maybe the beginning of serious focus on the North Sea.

Putin just advised his military commanders to put Nuclear deterrents on alert due to aggressive talking by the West.
Don't think the markets will warm to that.

On stockepedia what their holding was previously, probably that S Morgan idiot from IR.
It just looked more than just PIs buying , it was hovering above 27 and then seemed to shoot up over 5% in the last hour. Possibly a short buying?

Why the sudden uptick in the afternoon?
The performance over the last month is now explained by such large volumes being sold, but it seems like suddenly it was allowed to trade freely yesterday!

Well that would explain the constant slide from the end of January ( 33 ish )
