Nex was in a much better position before the takeover, price targets were higher without stagecoach, and let's see who is laughing when dividends are restored the end of FY22.

I've been invested here since 2020, so before the extra Lufkin pleas and Adnoc suspension, and really for the reasons you mentioned, although there was always a risk that the SFO could have ended a lot worse than it did.

I think having read in the HL summary of what to look for in PFC results, there is also an element of how the company plans to replace any of the Russian segments in the bidding pipeline, and the 4% revenue that will be lost from Russian sanctions.
And to be fair, the SP has faired pretty well on some torrid days, unlike many other stocks.

Why even mention that now? WTF.

The only thing that gives me any comfort is looking at other payment sector companies, say Wise group, PayPal, visa, look at their performance over 1, 6 months even a year, they're all similar.

You know what Bas, same as you, too heavily in all round at the moment, and if I could turn back the clock I would probably have bought divi shares like Lgen, DL and just taken the income.
Lgen was on offer at 228 the other day, progressive divi policy, even paid during pandemic, and you're never going to get wild swings like CINE.
But Nex I think when they re- instate the divi at fully year, all being well, is a sound long term hold.

I guess the pre tax profit of 39 m is great compared to last year, but still a way to go to get to 150-180 when the dividends were good. Also omicron probably affected performance this year, aswell as delta in Europe which resulted in lockdowns there before omicron hit us last year.
So with a covid free performance results this year could return to pre pandemic levels, provided we havnt been nuked before.
I'm debating whether to top slice a bit to buy back lower in any volatility, simply to reduce my average further.

Well we did move 17 % down from this morning being 10% up at one point.
And if there is a big seller day of results, that doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Didn't they say in the December statement that they were reviewing the pension deficit, and the conclusion would be revealed today, but it wouldn't have any material cash affect on the accounts ?

I think the August half year results will be the make or break time for where this company is going. I guess the markets are saying " we've heard it all before"
The results were presented in a confusing way, and at first glances you see the return to profit and reasonable amount too, then you see the increase in operating loss and start thinking well how have they managed a profit.
That's just a layman like me looking through the figures.
But you're right, a dividend would definitely do the job.

This is true and a glass half full attitude, but on the flip side, every 1p drop from here is another 3k in the red, so days like today are hard to swallow and makes holding this very stressful and unpleasant.
Quite frankly if I was even today, I would sell up, buy 40 k lgen shares and just wait for the regular 8k dividend each year.
Anyway maybe we will rise tomorrow but I'm not hopeful because on a bad market day like today, if the results were perceived as fairly positive then the SP would have at least flatlined and not fallen 7%.

I stopped topping up at 29 p, it just kept dropping and dropping, and got very tempted today but I just cannot see anything rational that will rise this. Results showing profit, increased revenue just, various disposals, in actual fact everything that is released by RNS has a significantly negative affect.
I'm stuck at 35p with 300k shares, and I think this will just suddenly rise one day for absolutely no reason.
