Everyone knows that if/ when any bid goes through the bidders plan to split Morrisons up, but it must be on a knife edge to know just where the sp needs to be to make a profit from the split .
If the value price of Morrisons is £2.70 any bidder may never be able to make a profit above that price for a split of the business, in which case that may not be a higher bid coming after the shareholders reject the current bid. Close call.

Some good points but just look at the debt it keeps going up to now £18bn + , when will it start to come down because if interest rates go up it's going to cost the earth to pay off, if it ever does.

So it now looks like the current shareholders will reject this offer thinking that Morrisons is worth a lot more. But if the bidders including the new possible bidders decide NOT to offer more than £2.70 then it's all off and the sp falls back to £1.80 ish for the current management to build up the company over the next 2-3 years
It all looks like the senior situation again.

I think this now confirms that if they bid higher all they want to do is split up Morrisons for short term profit, and very bad for any long term shareholders.

Doing well and with the market down 50 points, just think what this will be when the market turns, £1.50+ in no time at all.

Well looks like some good news for a change on both results and new packageing. could see the sp going back up to £1.50 over the next few weeks.

Why ? just what good is that going to do for vog.
This has been the big problem for years now far too many advicers charging for their presentations more concerned about making money for themselves than what they can do for companies.
If vog don't know what they are doing now god help everyone.
As I have said before vog have missed the boat now and should be looking into solar, gas has been and gone and vog didn't take advantage of it in time. But if this guy Andrew Knott says that you will now take note. !!!

No matter what we may think the facts are that CNA with debts of what about £4bn they were almost going bust under the great debt and interest payments on the old set-up, and all workers could have lost their jobs.
But now all the bad choices have been made, debt is down and they can concerntrate on customer service and back to making profits. There will always be people that are unhappy with whatever they did, but that's life.

So what's new ?
Many of us over the years have all worked for big very big companies that have all gone through the same ie, too much work for the time allowed, too many customers to see in too little time , over worked and under paid, being made redundant and suffered the same as Centrica. Times have moved on and companies that haven't changed have gone bust and we were running Centrica we would have all done the same. It's 2021 and never going to be 1960 or 1980 the glory days any more., and many have hate and dislike for many companies but that won't help. Let's try and keep the jobs that are left.

I guess it was too much to expect the sales growth to continue at the higher levels of covid, although still up on 2 years ago.
Funny how they now want to compare against 2 years ago because it looks much better, So was it a flash in the pan and can we expect the sp to go back down a little / lot?

Cuts overheads for unwanted poor engineer workers, gives a pay increase for those that are worth it,cuts debt,and sets out a plan to increase profits by concentrated drive to improve customer service. What more could anyone want. !!!!!!!!!
Now we will see the sp go higher.

To all those engineers and staff that tried their best to destroy the company I guess they are happy in the loss of so many customers.
But they have to remember they caused many of the customers to leave due to bad service etc from their strike, and now that is out of the way Centrica can now work on keeping the customer happy. Like all big companies that have been tied up with unions calling the tune it will take a little more time to turn this tanker around. So all the engineers can crawl back into their holes.

So not a bad set of results, with a few good points.
Total Group free cash flow from continuing operations up 4% to £524m, with lower capital expenditure reflecting ongoing capital discipline.

Adjusted operating profit from continuing operations (excluding Direct Energy) broadly flat at £262m (2020: £264m) and adjusted basic EPS from continuing operations of 1.7p (2020: 1.6p).

Net debt down to £0.1bn from £3.0bn over H1 2021, including the impact of proceeds received from the sale of Direct Energy in January 2021.

£608m post-tax exceptional profit on disposal of Direct Energy. Total post-tax exceptional profit from continuing operations of £248m (2020: loss of £897m) largely due to the write back of E&P assets.
From continuing operations, statutory operating profit of £1,003m (2020: loss of £338m) and basic EPS of 12.8p (2020: loss of 5.9p) including a profit on certain remeasurements due to rising commodity prices. Statutory net cash flow from operating activities down 12% to £558m.
Looks like we are on track to improve more in the second half.

I guess that is a very good question, what if CNA sell off most of their assets and become just a supply company, who knows.
But maybe they could sell off many parts of the business and then just supply the mixed energy bought on the market and make a profit on the difference plus all the maintainance work. As long as they have NO debt and make a good profit enough to pay divi's etc maybe that's the answer. Who knows.

NO I don't think it will, when a number of brokers are now talking about £1.50 ish 90p is long gone because £1.20 is just around the corner as this builds. Anyone now shorting will be in trouble.

Interesting that they have made this announcement today just before the results on Wednesday so they can include it as part of the good news moving forward for cna.

That's because the 18-30 's that haven't had both jabs are spreading ot around, but they don't seem to care they just want to go out clubing etc.

Your wrong, the sage scientist came back on his post and said he made a mistake, 60 % of those in hospital have NOT had 1 or both jabs, clearly the jabs are working. But hey believe what you want, the earth is flat. !!!!

So if tui ,easyjet,jet2 ,BA etc all said you cannot fly on holiday without your jabs where you would be in close contact with many others. Would you agree with that or say you shouldn't stop the un -vac form going on planes.?????
