Yes I noted the difference in share numbers etc, but I was just high-lighting the retail set up and with sales and profits generated for the two businesses and how the city price them.
Card has much smaller lower stock costs with quicker product turnover and bigger profits.
When you look at another retail stock ie shoe zone
, we can see their int result with rev of £76m profit £2.5m SP 172P
Against us fin results rev £510m, profit £62m SP 1-04.
Such a way to go and should be based on results est SP £1.70p min.
Hi MaryBr190, yes bought others and made some money.
Trying to get into OTB at £1.30 and just bought Card again yesterday for Divi , we just have to keep moving the money around for the fun and with luck profits.
Would be nice to see SP up to £1.08 for ex divi date. in 9 days time.
Good set of results and really turned the corner with good profits but no divi.
Really up-tight as I gave up waiting for the turn round and in the end sold at a loss.
But well done all those that held.
Over the years I have always wondered who sets these very high spreads.
Is it the house broker who sets a min/max spread for any other broker when the company doesn't want to sell many shares.
you have to wonder why on some days it's like this, it cannot be the market by it's self.
Anyway just 1 little thing that winds me up at times. but 2.60 spread !!!!!
Sorry 1.02.87 which is now showing.
Yes I have just bought 10,000 at £1.02.60.
I bought and sold these a few times in the last 2 years but now we also have a divi.
Let's just see what happens.
Wow , now looking like a great time to buy at £1.03 ish and get 4.5p Divi in 2 weeks or wait for SP of £1.08 and sell fast.
Hi Bfdinvestor, yes your right I know these are a good bet with possible price of £1.60+ in a few weeks/months and don't want to miss the boat but I am still looking to buy 10,000 at the £1.30 mark if possible.
I thought I missed the boat today with the big rise but if we follow the normal trading over the last few days it could come back down to £1.38, which I might have to settle for. Here's hoping
This looks like it's just becoming a trading stock, like today so far it goes up about 5% and now again it's falling back when sellers do their bit. With luck it will fall back to £1.34 ish and maybe I can then buy.
I just need the SP to hold on for a while at £1.30 so I can buy in !!!!!!
76.5p, is this a blip or just pre market moves or just the way we are heading ?
4% is 4%, anyway in my own mind I don't want to pay more than £1.30 as I think that is what it's worth at the moment.
Look we all at times think dame I have missed the best price and so buy regardless thinking I can't miss out, but we all also know there is always a better deal. Anyway I am waiting to see what the US market does because if it is well down then many of our shares will also fall. Life's a gamble and that makes it more fun trying to guess what's going to happen.
Now that's a big sale, 331,000 shares when there is only a small amount on issue.
will that take the SP down again to £1.30 so I can buy in. ?
Looking to buy 70p or less.
Hi all , been looking again through results and can see running overheads etc have gone up a little and they have got banking sorted but cannot find any outstanding large debts which must be great news if correct.
Can anyone else know what debt if any ?
Good morning Alessandro, sorry about my last post it looks like my finger punched your name wrong. Do apodulise for that.
Sorry Alejandro, are you saying a buy in price of 50% off current price or worth 50% more than my suggested £1.80 ?
So is £1.02 ish a good buying price for profits, if you buy now and it goes up to £1.10 you sell before the divi make profits but the SP will fall again by 4.5p back to £1.05p ish.
But if it doesn't go up to £1.10 you might as well hold your buy and buy after ex divi and buy at £1.04p-£1.05 ish and be in the same position. OK in the long run it should / might go up to £1.20 . another bet.
