Absolutely - there is this mystical concept that share prices move both up and down. Today happens to be a day when 3 have moved down. Christ - this really is turning into a helpline for numpties

I'm not disputing there have been missed deadlines and AS was naïve at the onset in giving people that to hang on to. However, his overexcitement (in my view) was due to AVCT being able to produce their science part relatively quickly. The Affimers were ready pretty sharpish. I have no idea what's going on with ELISA but BAMS is being sold so it's not the product where the issue lies it would appear to be validation. The LFT - saliva focus turned out to be a bad decision but AS took the hint and added AN there too. It would appear to be all third party issues that have caused delays.
A lot of people saying "we need monthly updates" / "I cant handle the news blackout" / "Why isn't the SP going up" are also the ones saying "we can't have another fluffy RNS"....make your mind up.
Also, this is a global pandemic with no rule book. Goalposts are going to be changing left right and center so delays were inevitable. AVA6000 was delivered as promised, on time, which again gives me comfort we aren't just been taken for a ride.
The reason behind the silence I am sure we will soon find our one way or another, good or bad.

Couldn't have said it better sleepydave - When you've been on AIM for a while you know a few things:
- How to spot a cowboy CEO a mile off running a lifestyle Co. - That is not AS.
- SP & valuation doesn't move solely on fundamentals
- Anything can happen!

All this rubbish of "we need monthly updates" / "I cant handle the news blackout" / "Why isn't the SP going up". News will come when it comes simple as. This is a small biomed co. with a lot in the pipeline......so much going for it but sorry you'll have to wait for that full potential to maximise.

Just to fuel a different speculative fire to the "is it us" tender bore. Exemptions for disclosure of price sensitive info on AIM are "in the course of negotiation":

AS doesn't strike me as a cowboy who will have strung us all along to fund a lifestyle Co. for himself. He's a scientist and one thing that is consistent is that he seems genuinely positive about the various scientific elements AVCT are working on. It's an end commercial product that's taking time.
Now we know there was the saliva to saliva and AN u turn but outside of that, we have 3 products LFT / BAMS and ELISA. BAMS is on sale for research purposes via Adeptrix so it has to work, AS suggests he is very happy with the LFT S&S numbers and ELISA is very quiet. Something has to be going on in the background in my view - 3 products where AS is happy with the underlying science......I cant see this just being a dud.
The silence is frustrating but the longer it goes on for the more I think something bigger is happening behind the scenes.
It is funny how the ones calling for regular updates were also the ones saying the next RNS can't be a fluffy filler one.

But what is lost revenue in comparison to is the question? Some here may have been happy if we did an Innova and pumped out a fairly average test to capitalise in the short term. I mean they did a cracking job of making some opportunistic cash. However, once that train stops for them, it stops for good.
We'll find out in due course if the long term prize is much greater than the short term "pain"

Well spot Nickel is currently trading at $18k/tonne versus ~$11k/tonne in 2015 so I would say a good result would be something that indicates an economically viable resource to extract. Exact numbers I don't know, but at multi year highs on Nickel prices, to be economically viable that resource can surely be smaller than it needed to be back then?
On the Lithium, I wonder if that is of less interest given the more recent influx of Vanadium as the preferred element for the "EV revolution", battery grade lithium prices are almost 66% lower than in 2017 57k V 171k

Just re-reading the RNS - out of 776 samples, they have chosen 13 to go for Fire Assay to test for gold, platinum and palladium. To select 13 specifically from 776 for a very specific testing technique, surely you would have some indication in those of mineralisation it wouldn't be a stab in the dark? Now that would be a nice curve ball!

Good to see they weren't impeded on getting the rest of the drilling done. Not sure how long results will take, from other investments Peru and Aus have pretty significant backlogs due to a combo of Covid and a boom in commodity exploration. Hopefully Tanzania isn't too bad and there is something good in there to report on!

It's a fair question Sage. Avct did seem to be ahead of the curve with initial announcements on Covid affimers / LFT's / BAMS / ELISA / neutralising therapies. Then actual delivery of anything has been very slow.
We know there was the late U-turn from saliva only to add AN so that explains some of the LFT delay.
BAMS on sale for research purposes but we are still waiting for clinical validation.
ELISA - nothing
Neutralising therapies - nothing
Given the necessity to protect the integrity of the Affimer IP longer term, I understand the approach of not putting anything out to the amrket unless it is "gold standard". However, AS seems to have real confidence in the numbers from what he has been saying (although we dont actually know what they are yet).
I just don't see AS as a cowboy running a lifestlye company. There must be more to this than meets the eye.....lets hope we find out soon.

It's such an uncertain market that I have no issues with disposing of an asset at basically breakeven. If JN sees better use for it, what's the issue? Or if it is all for working capital - the other option is a placing/raise and you being diluted so you would be whining either way.
Selling at a loss/breakeven is hard for PI's to comprehend. Hence why so many of us have dog shares sat doing nothing in our portfolios at -80% and we either average down or live in hope.
Time will tell but even at 100% upside on BK2 its a couple of hundred grand...hardly going to help us all retire!

So you were in 6 months ago which means the COViD rush brought you here and you define success as Avct producing a LFT which generates short term revenue and boosts the SP. Absolutely fine and I, like you hope that happens!

Avct diagnostics is Affimers, not LFTs. With a crap test the SP growth is hindered near and long term. No test (if it was to be the case it just wasn’t good enough) protects the IP that has so many more use cases than COViD. It’s a tricky balancing act for AS as there is a huge market out there but this can’t be capitalised on at the expense of the IP reputation and future licensing deal opportunities.
There’s 2 different types of investor here and nobody is wrong or right, everyone has a strategy. Mine is longer term so happy to wait out the therapeutics, I was in here before COViD and will be here after.
I just don’t believe the LFT is everything here.
