Lots of sell orders late in the day. Does this mark a current top? It certainly has exceeded my expectations.....but I only have a small holding here so may run it.

Try to keep your holdings in an ISA or pension wrapper, most brokers have a cheap reinvestment of dividend scheme so you can have the choice.
If outside such a scheme, the most effective action may be to sell outside and buy back inside. That will give you capital gains taxed at a lower rate and then future income is tax free.

It is a sorry state of affairs demonstrating that OEICS are not suitable vehicles for illiquid assets.
If this had been an investment trust the shares would have kept on trading, but probably with a large discount. Sadly investors are trapped and likely to take losses without any escape possible.
The worst outcome is a liquidation of the fund.
Maybe we need a SPAC style investment trust that can swap units for shares. The problem will always be fair valuation of the illiquid assets but a solution is needed to release investors from their limbo.

It took me 3 years to buy in as I started watching after it hit 800 and then the problems with smart meters became quite political.
The SP has been quite volatile in 2020, but the partial sale of the installed book made a big difference and the company is cash positive rather than indebted to its book.

The battery and other care assets are crucial to improving margins as the meters must be becoming more competitively operated and there may be churn in suppliers as many of the smaller operators have ceased trading which presumably affects new installation flow.

I had these in mind to trade, but we will see how they go for a few updates before buying more.

We don’t know yet...it depends on the number of Jackson shares and their price.
We do know Pru holds 89% of the stock and intends to hold 19% post the distribution, so 70% of the value of jackson (4.5bn) will be distributed or about $3bn. There are about 2.6bn Pru shares in issue, so we should get about 1.21 USD per Pru share or about 88p. Whether that is one Jackson share at 880p for each 10 Pru shares or some other ratio we will have to wait for the demerger details.
It may also depend on which board Jackson lists on as I believe the Nasdaq has a minimum share price of a dollar and they would not want to start close to that.

Today’s AZN results make a strong contrast with the decline being experienced in GSK.
AZN started its pipeline renewal several years earlier than GSK and was given a kick by a bid that was rejected.
GSK is following a similar path of renewal which will play out post separation of the healthcare business.
Better returns from GSK are looking more likely but I think we need to wait until 2022 or 2023 to see the benefits reflected in the SP

All looking good for the next few years.

Alexion does muddy the waters somewhat...but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Hopefully Mr MArket takes a shine to these results.

My break even for Clin is about 820. So I am much happier but have no clue as to why it has shot up in the last two weeks. I think it is still undervalued but risky to buy so I will hold.
They have taken a big bet on Proleukin, if it gets some positive news it will fly higher.

As I am an accumulator, I find it hard to sell. I had set myself up to trade SMS, but it kept on going up and converted to a hold.....I suspect my next trade will be a buy around these levels.

Seems to react to Covid vaccine news.....bad news yesterday about AZ now the govt has moved on to other vaccines it recovers.

Net revenue ahead by 20%

This seems an exceptionally resilient share for me. Doubled my money in three years.

8% in a week....is that what you were looking for? And a new all time high after peaking in 2017 and then crashing below 400.
It seems a steadier business these days with headlong expansion behind it.

Measured M&A now seems possible. I suspect there are quite a few small practices that will seek shelter in larger groups post COVID and of course there has been a boom in petcare. The long term commitment of owners will show through in 5-10 years as the pets age and they are offered expensive treatments.
IMO this is a good 10 year investment (just keep an eye on management that they remain prudent and do not pile on too much debt)

Most likely. Private equity who own similar businesses...PIC or Rothesay will maximise the cost savings and pay back.
Possible that Aviva might think bulking up in the UK fits with its new strategy but it may not want the scrutiny it would bring (and would you want Aviva paper or cash]. So you might get cash from PE or paper from a competitor.

Will review this position on results in mid March.
I am keen on seeing the CARE assets growing.

Re GSK markets don’t like surprises and fall first and ask questions later. I expect GSK will be higher than 1300 over the course of the year....but I still prefer AZ given the approvals it has accumulated recently.

BOD unlikely to hold out if they are already saying discussions have taken place.....there is just the question of price. 150 should be sufficient for an early bid but I would hope for more as there is a good chance of getting there within 2 years without a bid.

I am going to restrict myself to comments on news from now on. I think my optimistic views tinged with some realism are well known to regular readers.....looking for reasons why the price is up or down is fruitless as I intend to add and hold for a long time.

Next comment (assuming I can resist) will be about the FY results presentation which I expect will show good commercial contribution and Elunate growth in Q4. A strong cash position. Explanation of the inmagene deal. More detail on targets for 2021.

Gsk and Azn boards best left alone as getting toxic. Also LGEN, I felt obliged to remind people to be respectful of each other....

This was usual spiel from CH wandering through the pipeline.

It was a shame that CH did not talk in detail about the deal with INMAGENE that was announced on the same day. That was a missed opportunity for something that must have been in the works for months. Hopefully we will hear more about the rationale for the deal in future.

Could be positive to address the elephant in the room....the unaffordable dividend
