@Icecool So let me get this right, you say that Wood's entire future hinges on a 'race' between Sidara's offer to buy Wood vs Wood's recent disposals to fight off their own cash flow and debt issues?!

Do you have any idea on how stupid that fantasy is? It's all in your own head!

I will continue to reply on Wood's RNS that Wood's sale to Sidara is the best course of action...and which points to the fact that Wood's BOD have been advised by professional companies vs that of Icecool's deliusional thoughts!

@Icecool Wood's disposal keeps the wolves (banks) at bay, and keeps cash-flow ticking over. That is all. Nothing more, nothing less. The disposal is no game-changer.

The ONLY game-changer (for Wood investors) will be IF another buyer enters the park to play ball.

@Icecool Remember our bet I say Wood will be sold to Sidara (or maybe another buyer). You say after disposal are completed, that Wood will tell Sidara to back off, as Wood goes it alone. It is clear that you are deep under water here. Now, my concern is that when I am ready to collect my win - a pint at your local Weatherspoons in Aberdeen - how will you pay for it? I don't want to have to watch you do the dishes while I enjoy my free pint! Lol

@Icecool I would say also that whoever wrote Wood's RNS on the disposal probably had a couple of extra strong coffees too! Hence, the giddy excitement over a disposal. Lol

But either way Icecool, you are far to excited over one RNS. Take a step back and look at all Wood's RNS over the last several months, then look very, very hard at Wood's last RNS which summarises where Wood is at right now i.e. which amounts to the summary of the accumulations of events. The last RNS is the one that stands, and the one that counts.

Disposals take time for the cash to hit the bank. Therefore, maybe it's a short term loan to tie Wood over until the Sidara deal is closed. I have not bothered to look in to it. Why? Because it's a storm in a tea cup. Wood's debt is circa $1.6 billion...what's a paltry $60 million extra ?! Lol

@Icecool Ever the fantastist! Now you seem to cheer Wood's BOD as pulling out a blinder of an RNS for selling part of the business in order to satisfy their lenders and prop up cash-flow! Let me get this right Icecool...do you now think the Wood BOD are brilliant, or magicians, or incompetent?! Lol

@Thedetector Unfortunatey, Wood's recent series of events has been a series of smacks for Wood and its stakeholders (like the old Batman TV series, biff, bash, bosh, pow, smack, wack...!). In fact it is not Sidara, but Wood's lenders who are 'pulling the strings' here. Wood's BOD are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Make no mistake, Wood 'invited' Sidara to take a second look. Wood needs Sidara's promise of a cash injection like a crutch. Wood's lenders will support Wood while Sidara's offer is on the table and subsequently accepted by Wood's shareholders. Another buyer would be nice.

@Icecool Wood's RNS disposal was coincidence i.e. just prior to Sidara's offer. Wood is duty-bound to release an RNS on events that make a material difference. The disposal needed to be reported. No big deal about that.

@Icecool 'Word on the grapevine' is far more reliable than 'rumours'. It all depends on how well connected one is. I like your optimism about Wood's disposals being enough to see off Sidara...sounds like a rumour. I prefer to reply on Wood's own RNS which says no such thing! In fact, Wood's own RNS has recommended Sidara's offer to it's shareholders. Fact (Wood's RNS) vs Fiction (Icecool's fantasy scenarios) and all that! Lol

@Icecool No guarantees that Wood's audited acccounts will be ready by 31 October, none at all. However, word on the grapevine is that the Wood accounts will indeed be ready at the end of October. Let's see if its true. Anyway, what are you doing back on the Wood discussion board? I heard you had slumped off to the TRX discussion board to spread your fantasy scenarios there! Lol

@Kando. I hope you are right.

Two buyers competing on price would be a game-changer for current Wood shareholders. Two would-be buyers could be Apollo (they do not mind companies down on their luck with clear turn-around and growth potential) and Worsley (Worsely-Wood would be a very strong force). Other than that no-one else comes to mind. Maybe an investment company - probably from the US. Anyway, fingers crossed for more than one, but it will be hard work, and it has to be the right fit. Time will tell soon enough. I do predict that Wood will have the audited accounts ready to be published by the end of October 2025...that step alone ought to draw out any otehr interested buyer (or not).

Agreed. In my experience in banking/lending the primary reason businesses/corporates fail id down to poor management. Of course, business owners and corporate management tend to blame competition, economy etc. However, it is almost always down to poor management. Wood is a prime example of such poor management over the years, which results in its fall from grace.

@Vulcan Just checked my records as I felt sorry for you if you has to re-read my posts! Lol I sold out with a nice profit first tranch on 5 and second and last tranch on 6 December (i.e. completely sold out) - and said this in my posts on 5 and 6 December also. So take your fantasy/lies comments about my investments in Wood and jog on....after you have wiped that scrambled egg from your face that is! Lol

@Vulcan You need to visit specsavers. Either taht, or you have cherry -picked one post (of many I must admit). The fact is that I bought in and then sold out and actually bid 'farewell' to everyone here on this Wood discussion board late 2024 when I sold out completely, and I left with a decent profit. Since then, I bought in again in February (Valentine's Day mascacre etc) and have averaged down all the way as the Wood share price hit 18p. Of course, it is all there in black and white under my posts. Feel free to take a proper look at all my posts as I have clearly stated when I have bought in and sold out last year, and when I made a series of buys this year (take a few cups of tea and a warm blanket with you). After that take a warm damp cloth and clean off the scrambled eggs you planted on your own face over my investment posts in Wood. Lol

@GRaff You shoot the messager (although, it has to be said that you are a pretty bad shot). You still have your head buried firmly in the sand. You still have not read Wood's RNS properly have you?! It's all there in black and white.

Of course, if you think JO is wrong and Wood will not be sold to Sidara (or anyone else), then you could believe in Icecool's fairytale scenario and bet your house on it. Good luck with that.

The fact is that Wood's BOD have led it's shareholders down a merry, winding path, with twists, turns, ups and downs... You need to take your moaning and groaning and write to Kenny-boy at Wood. Not bother with some random JO who passes a few minutes of the day on this Wood discussion board.

For me, I invested pretty late in the clear knowledge that Wood will be sold. Although I did expect a higher price - but Wood's series of own-goals made that almost impossible. That said, I will be happy enough to take the 30p and ride off into the sunset, and continue to invest elsewhere.

Most people watch plays and theatre shows as it plays out in front of them on stage, they don’t look off the sides to see what is happening behind the scenes. My suggestion is that you reread Woods own latest RNS with regards to the Sidara offer and Wood’s current state of affairs. That is what is playing out in front of us all. I must say, however, Icecool you are comedy gold!
