Last time I had them they were under a quid(evraz)....beginning to wish I’d kept them! I’ve got a few soco around 90 average,first lot at 120 most recent 69 I think.

Normally anything yielding over 5%ish is unsustainable but at the moment there’s a cracking choice of chunky ones like Aviva,standard life Aberdeen,saga,marstons,the tobaccos bats and imb,REITs like land Securities,British land,hammerson etc, green king,Royal Mail to name a few! I’ve only got the big miners under the BRCI wrapper but a couple like centamin and caml seem to be up there. Quite a few bombed out sectors particularly retail and utilities offering huge yields but big ? on sustainability or worries on brexit,labour gov risks. My recent very blue and mixed bag of investments a lot around 6-7% yields.

Thanks for that, pressure on margins and recruiting not helping by the sounds of it. Hopefully maintaining the (high) divvy won’t come back and haunt them. Will probably stay within the confines of normal market size on that one just in case! Thanks for the other suggestions,have a few specs already and dabble here and there so never say never,good luck with them.

I’ve got one called PGIT that yields nearly ten at the current SP....assuming they pay it, mix and match utilities etc,check out their portfolio updates mate.

The rps ones are a consultancy,oil and gas but other divisions. Directors buying and last update a few ‘marginally below’ mentions. My hunch is the drop exaggerated on the oil price drop,big div has got my attention and bought a few already but wary of going in too heavy on anything these days!

Agreed,chasing turnover at the expense of margins never a good move! Costain seem to have a sensible approach and maintaining net cash according to the update this week so just think they’ve been caught up with the aforementioned on sentiment hence price drop..time will tell! Any views on another I’m looking at adding RPS,right down there currently?

There’s all these fancy terms like infrastructure,procurement,systems etc but I’ve always known them as getting stuck into building roads and I think they were into waste as well. Carillion and interserve have hammered that sector plus the kier rights issue, massively undersubscribed as the sp at the time well under the discounted rights price of 409....bounced a bit now.

Not quite but some mega boring things like Edinburgh trust,schroders,land Securities been adding....all good yields!! I’ve got bonds and unlisted things within wrappers and a few of those ones that only trade once a day,mixed bag. Plus a load of specs,none of which are in profit except those gms things that have just swallowed the costs. Best to stick to what you know as that gives confidence to hold them through thick and thin. It would just be nice to see a few of those bottom drawer aimers tucked away actually go up for a change!!

Agreed,seems to be up/down in extremis on the yanks latest nonsense as much as anything. Mind you great buying times for quality gear on high yields which is right up my street lol. Got the obvious oils plus a few AA mentioned the other day Soco International,sia but have had them for ages so offside plus the usual hopeful explorers awaiting discovery,financing and placings lol. Was it that long ago,crikey!

It’s a bit like the old girl,construction and all that. Had them yonks ago but got back in recently at 3 quid. Have looked at a few miners,bought some centamin egypt and caml and was going for paf but they’d already gone over 8p! Any views on the iodine one,iofina?

I think we should be investing in our own home stills/micro breweries.....mind you my last batch of homebrew was undrinkable and ended up as tomato feed! Wres,hmmmm you may have mentioned that one before...good luck and hope they get going next year bud. Off to the land of nod now...catch up soon.
