Cheers for the link,PD is a grey area on acreage and the whims of the individual Local Authority and I think I upset mine recently by asking them to speak English when talking hectares lol!
I’ve not noticed buybacks increasing the SP on any of my holdings but in some ways I’d like to know what it’s like to pay any CGT!

They’re too scared of the yanks to ask for proper remuneration…easy targets like shareholders,motorists,smokers,employers don’t protest out on the streets either!

I think it would breach planning use if any business/revenue was derived from it but good idea. Have loads of friends pop up there but just a hobby interest really,like a big allotment at times….plus the muntjac wouldn’t like strangers on there!!

That’s the third hit in three years then! Allowance drops to 2k, all the cancelled bank divs when Covid kicked off now this…..I think shareholders seen as an easy target……accept we pay tax on income but to accumulate the money to buy shares in the first place there’s a mountain of tax to climb aaarghhhhh!!
Nom, I’m more likely to chase them away with my rifle mate!

So my understanding is from April it’s 8.75% on divs over the first £2,000 received outside an ISA?

Don’t know much about it other than I guess they saw an opportunity to add…the benefit of a diversified fund doing the work for us!!

Approx 6,000 mixed natives plus more others I lost count, willows for firewood mostly, fruits,a load of sweet chestnuts grown from nuts and some ilex and common oaks from acorns. Bees love it too, just split some existing ones(it’s a bit like rhubarb) and transplanted a big area for all the benefits plus ground cover too. Even in a small garden you can grow some in a big pot and harvest the leaves. Anyway early start tomorrow catch up soon.

Comfrey is the organic gardener's best friend. Its leaves are full of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium - all nutrients needed by growing plants. Master the use of comfrey and you'll never need to buy expensive fertiliser again.

Companion planting works well mate, onions near carrots etc. Grow comfrey near the fruit trees for getting the deep nutrients up.

Jersey ISIN so no stamp duty,must admit it’s the first thing I look for but as you say it’s a little extra!!

Interesting when you use no chemicals,fertilisers etc and more grubs etc in the fruit so being selective on what we eat but all gets eaten by something!
Politics and tax right over my head bud, I think they make it up as they go along and work on damage limitation rather than an overall plan.

I’m struggling to see what all the fuss is about tbh. Buying opportunity,reducing averages and increasing income from an income fund plus no stamp duty which is a particular favourite of mine lol! GLA

Most ‘old folks’ who I know not only worked and paid taxes all their lives plus mortgages in order to own their own houses but will also end up leaving them to their children and death duties may well apply too.
They also had their childhoods interupted by the war,the fear of losing someone close and endured the hardships of rationing for years afterwards.
Employees have had progressively better terms and conditions,hours,pay,rights etc as time has marched forwards.
Please show some respect when generalising.
