Stock held in a broker or custodian Nominee can be loaned out if it is in the custody agreement. Stock can never be sold without shareholder permission unless it is held under a separate Broker Discretionary agreement and in a different Nominee name. Basically if sold and price then rockets there is no comeback on the broker.

IPAD yes they borrow and lend out stock for many complex reasons.
The good reason for any shareholder is when all the MM s do not hold any on their books, there are few sellers around and they are borrowing stock to meet demend from buyers

Paddy, IMO. no one is shorting. Any stock being loaned out will not be going to deliberate shorters. The stock will more likely be borrowed by some market makers caught short as demand begins to outstrip supply. That is a good thing

The cherry on top could be the MMs are very close to or are out of shares. If so this will truly move on a demand basis.
I will not say the usual weekend cliche but if anyone else does it will be the first time they may have got it correct.

Only way GGP will become a miner is if GGP are taken over by a miner and the name is retained as a subsidiary.

They are doing the same as usual easing the SP on hardly any volume though sales v buys at 3 to 1 so hardly picking up any shares. Just creating a little headroom to start the SP run up when they will attract the herd again and yo yo the Sp up to the news and new level while making turns in the process.

That will all change if and when the MMs run out of stock

I honestly think the MRE will come after this quarter update do think NC will want the lot and the earlier they start a negotiation the stronger position they will be in. They will be fair but not as much if GGP were sitting on a strike in Scally.

6 months or so ago the majority on here were dreaming of cashing in at around 20 or 25p. Rather than a buyout this year I would much prefer another 3 exploration results on continued step outs and infills followed by the broker re rates.
That and If they keep re rating at the same pace we will be there or beyond most PI targets and surely any positives on other licences would surely put a much higher value than any form of buyout after initial MRE

Right now the target price is based only and correctly estimated on the formal news released so you cannot expect the SP to reflect it yet,
Any SP will be discounted for a few reasons, one being that MM s will be carrying some shares and another is they will maintain. Headway in the SP for the next spike or leg up which occurs on the next expected positive news. I am quite happy to see the SP grow almost one step behind or short of the broker predictions at a steady rate until all is played out. Patience can be rewarding.

Is scally the same though? Have read many posts about there being shallow gold there. Not a geo so di not know if that is more positive or not but suspect it is.
Also if it is then is there any history about previous exploration....
