UBS you agree are an interested:connected party to the ongoing deal, that is why they have to report any deal they make for themselves or on behalf of any other party connected . The 8.5 states no other part is connected and they dealt as a principal. Principal means they dealt for their own account . Not as a market maker but as an exempt broker dealer and they reported a buy.
UBS bought for their own account. I do not know if they are a market maker but it does not matter as in a broker dealer capacity they can still deal fir their own account when clients of theirs want to buy or sell.
Ask yourself , if UBS bought shares who sold then to UBS

Is to discuss a transaction.
That is the only fact we know and fir that matter NN shareholders too.
It isa board meeting and no guarantee they will make public yet any details whatsoever.
We I suppose will still be in the dark but if it does relate to RUA which at the end of the day remains a good chance, then it has to be a big step closer to news.

The notice asks are UBS reporting on another party related to the deal. Answer is No so the client could be me or you.
UBS as a person or entity connected to the deal are reporting what they have done, as acting in a Principal capacity IE for their own account / trading book. They report a buy. That is what a market maker does for every sale we make, they buy.

For the last time yesterday’s 8.5 was a buy by UBS as principal, which makes it a sell by one of their clients.

I have worked in brokers and MMs, specialised in the settlement of Corporate Actions. In takeover events where the resulting new shares are unable to be held / traded in our local market/custodians. The event will include an option to sell the resulting new shares via a broker on the bidding company’s local market. The options would be communicated by HL their clients would instruct . Either sell or deliver new shares to a custodian ( if they had one in that market) IF sold then the proceeds would be paid to the cash account associated to where the original EUA shares were held prior to the corporate action event.

Perhaps CAW1 but the whole thread appears to be about the fact you cannot hold the shares in ISA in the first place.
If they were held in ISA in first place then they can be sold from there so no problem.

Why do people think UBS gave a client the nod to buy. UBS are reporting their side of a trade and they bought. A a client of theirs sold.

If you go to the link then it also mentions an earlier meeting on 20 OCT when some form of decision was made by 13 directors) perhaps not all of them.
That was a week after EUA issued the RNS to put a stop to the SP rise.

@Dvharrison, yes GGP board is excellent with lots of expertise there too.
Only fault if you want to put it like that is have read many times that GGP are unique in discovering a major find within a few miles of a processing plant owned by a miner who is desperate for GGPs find. Hellooow!

Personally I found him useful as he occasionally did make some pertinent points which were answered by those that had done the hard research. I never let posters like that get under my skin and never ever get dragged into the slanting matches. Total waste of time

If you need shareholders To vote on the dividend you need to make them first aware of any material business. Not vote for a payment then find the company is just about to part with X on an acquisition

Not much then unless it is required to top up or they are only buying part of the assets or ?
