I think you may be referring to Mr Rooney's statement of 2nd Feb., however as far as I'm aware he did not mention 10p, but did say that the board would pay down debt to reduce to 35Bn$, and commmence share buybacks, thereafter returning value to shareholders

I'm all in on BP as well with no more spare cash, unless I pawn my Wife's jewelry (or my wife) lol

It is really vexing and difficult to understand, however, I honestly believe we have far better days ahead.

Happy, The US Securities & Exchange Commission launched an investigation into Exxon a while ago for over valuing their shale assets by about 20Bn$, following a whistleblower complaint. Do you know how than panned out or maybe still ongoing ??

Its really good to see that the shale assets are providing such a positive outcome. I have to confess when BP purchased BHP assets for such a huge amount of money I was anxious to say the least. I Like the flexibility to be able to knock out so many rigs instantly.

Many have commented about possibility of an Exxon 'takeover' as opposed to merger. If it were to be the former then it would become an American company, and no longer British. Would it delist on the FTSE ? There may be considerable tax issues for us all if we are paid in dollars by an American company, as we would have a tax liability to Uncle Sam.

I think we should all give Happy a cumulative clap for taking the time and trouble to provide in-depth analysis on this board which I have found really interesting and useful

It certainly is, oil at $60.54, and share price of BP 2.639. really annoying !!!

Soul007., The ex div date is the 18th. ( If you buy on that day the dividend is paid to the seller. If you buy the day before the dividend is yours)
