Fair enough.. however, I don't think we will see the stimulus deal this side of the election, and I believe a Trump victory will trigger a major uplift in the DOW index, which if normal trends apply, will see the FTSE rise also.
I totally agree with your Covid point.
As far as Brexit is concerned I believe big business in UK need desperately to see clarity and certainty for future business and investment which will impact on oil consumption in my view.

I you consider that the oil price in this Q is double what it was in Q2 then one would reasonably expect the results to be considerably better, and consequently I think there may well be. Best of luck

Well poor old Joe doesn't really know what's going on at all. He didn't even know what state he was in yesterday. They have to sit him down at night with colouring books and crayons and try to explain it all to him. Never mind he will be the guy with the controls to the USA nukes arsenal if elected so we wont really need to worry much about stock prices shortly.

Interesting conundrum !!! Two things come to mind, firstly, look at what happened to oil and our SP when the news broke about President Trumps illness, and just imagine what will happen to the stock market if he looses., and secondly, didn't we just pay over 10BN for BHP shale interests in America a short while ago. I regret to say that it does look like a Biden victory will be the most likely outcome.

Oil and Share price down steeply this morning just because Donald Trump has contracted Covid 19 virus. Imagine what will happen if he looses the election... Get well soon Mr President

Nothing is certain in this business. It would be madness to sell now unless circumstances force you to, ride it out this storm and wait for things to improve next year.

I entirely agree with your remarks. I am disappointed with the level of production cuts agreed by OPEC + as this will not have the expected impact on the price of oil. If you consider in the short term that demand is somewhere in the region of 20 MBD then the reduction although cannot hurt, wont help much either in my opinion. Looking forward, when world economies begin to pick up again, there will be a massive demand for oil and gas and prices will rocket. We just need to remain calm and ride out this storm as we have done in the past. Good luck to all on this board.

I think you are correct. The ftse sadly isn't a market leader, and slavishly follows both Asia and Wall Street like lemmings off a cliff.

Thankfully the stock increased nicely yesterday, and potentially will continue upwards in todays trading. Its nice to see an improved mood on here after a tough few weeks. Perhaps this would be a good moment to reflect and consider the extraordinary Doctors, Nurses and Pharmacy techs who are putting their lives on the line for all of us every day, they stand to loose a great deal more than mere money. Nice start to the day with 10% uplift, but why? Is it in expectation of the Democrats getting off their backsides and doing something for a change, and hopefully approve the presidents trillion dollar package for business, who knows but miracles may happen.
