It seems todays slight drop is more to do with civil unrest in China because of their handling of covid. Looks like all markets are similarly down. Will bp fall to 4.50 ? Well, anything could happen and I can see the huge volume of russian oil hanging around in tankers will need to find a market somewhere, I suspect India will oblige, however, I still see this at £5 by Christmas.

Not a brilliant start to the week but difficult to see the readin for 10 point drop, other than slight reduction in oil price, looks like it might be a yoyo day.

Meoryou, I would've loved to watch that operation. I have to give credit to BP operatives, they really are masters when it comes to finding solutions to massive logistical challenges, and I really have great respect for them.

Jwd, The oil price is at a comfortable level but I do not see oil price as the primary driver, you don't need a great memory to remember when oil was $ 120 plus, and that didn't propel the sp to £5 let alone 6
We need the dividend to be reinstated in my view that's what will move us towards the sic squid.

Meoryou I take your point., my anxiety is that the current dividend strategy was set to remain until 2024 I believe, so unless the alter the format we may have to wait, having said that the did break from the set formula last quarter when the improved the uplift. It would be difficult for the board not to accelerate the dividend uplift if profit levels remain high.

They should bring us back to 8p we havnt been rewarded adequately in line with the massive profits made in my opinion. OK they have the buybacks and debt reduction. It should be our time now to see reward for loyalty

Spights we certainly will have a good Christmas. We're having ours this weekend as everyone is scattered all over on Christmas day, so I'm expecting a houseful to swoop in tomorrow like an sas assault regiment and that will bring our peace and quiet to an end till next week
