Agree absolutely Meoryou my concern is Murray isn't a great communicator, but we certainly seem to be pushing a lot of the right buttons presently

Lucky lurker I actually thought Bernard was a good ceo, his downfall was capitulation to the green energy tidalwave of government pressure. He was excellent at public relations and exuded confidence when addressing investors/shareholders at agm etc.

Welshtoptrader, The big oil companies have already stated that they are not interested in Donald Trumps 'drill baby drill' mantra, and Weirdpals post sets it out well so no need to reiterate.

Meoryou I think February 26th is going to be critical for the credibility and possibly even the survival of the board. They had better make it work because the general atmosphere is looking a bit hostile toward them currently

Lori84 you make the decisions that you judge to be right for you and you may well be correct on this one however I do believe that we are entering a more positive phase with this stock. Personally I would not sell at this point but that's just my choice. Timecwill tell which of us made the right call

Great Post.... we should never forget that these people who sit on the board are extremely well remunerated for whatever it is that they actually do on our behalf. The performance has been shocking and embarrassing to say the least. I agree serious questions need to be answered about some of these individuals suitability for the jobs they are supposed to undertake. Many decisions are nothing short of diabolical and seem only to be made in a kneeler effort to appease the green pressure.

As for the PR department they really need to wake up and start earning their salaries

BP reached a settlement with us government in the amount of 20 billion dollars and over 15 billion of that was tax deductible, so effectively the amount payable was 4.7 billion dollars approx after tax

I think todays setback will be short lived particularly if oil stays north of $80

I was not aware that Murray Auchinloss was unwell and I wish him a full and speedy recovery. I have to say BP's pr machine is not doing a great job promoting all the positive elements of the business, particularly the several major deals of recent weeks. They need to be more proactive in my opinion.

To be honest Spights I didn't expect to be where we are, and just reading Meoryou's post it seems the good news continues. We do seem to have a very diversified business now and with a fair wind the sp will continue north.
