Hi Spights, maybe the hype is over exaggerating elliotts actual holding. It suggests that they hold less than the threshold

The threshold for notification to stock exchange for holding in uk company is 3% of voting rights

I actually do not believe that any comments made on this board about Auchinloss have been meant in a personal context. As you said he is probably a very decent person, however the lack of direction is mind boggling we seem to have invested large chunks of cadk in what now appear to be dead ends. Some of these investment decisions were in part due to pressure from government and greens, but you have to atvleast raise the question why... he ultimately has to shoulder responsibility and with the greatest respect to the guy I think he is massively out of his depth. I am also not particularly enamored with other board members either, and that includes Helge Lund (what is it that this guy actually does for bp)

Hi Meoryou, I just git the feeling that they are now patently aware of the negative mood in the ranks of the shareholders and probably are rather anxious that the proposed statement of the boards plans to change course may fall flat in which case they will all be out of a job.

The feint hope of the return of some cash to shareholders in the event of disposing of the rosneft stake is a positive given that it was largely though to be dead in the water

Let's see what our American friends make of it momentarily

Spights I hope you are right. Been in the doldrums long enough, although I wouldn't expect too much from today's question and answer session, they will keep their cards close till 26th for any big changes in policy

I'd be very surprised if Auchinloss and Thompson are in post six months from now. Stewardship of BP is abysmal under their watch and its now ideal time for new people to steer us forward
