Q4 results and dividend announcement due on Tuesday, hopefully no big shocks.

Jimothy leaving metrics aside I cannot immediately see a suitor for BP for the following reasons.

1. Lack of clarity about the direction of the business

2. Current debt level

3. Ongoing debt due to gom disaster ( about a billion annually)

4. Lack of clarity regarding rosneft, do we still have an asset that can realise 20 billion after war ends. How do you put a value on that, and why doesn't the board clarify the current status of their attempts to sell.

Overall its a mucking fuddle and nobody will want to touch it.

Meoryou I suppose its better to cut losses and abort if there's not enough demand but yet another example of very poor decision making by the BOD in the first place. Something needs to change with these nincompoops in charge. 11th February is becoming more and more crucial for Mr Auchinloss

Meoryou, the reality is we are doing some great things but not getting across to the investing public very well which I blame on rubbish pr. They may well be informing large institutional investors but not ordinary shareholders.

Q4 results are likely to be weak however I have confidence that the BOD are not totally detached from the reality of our situation so they must know that 26th Feb is going to be pivotal.

Weirdpal/Meoryou I agree with the general mood music on the board and I just hope Murray Auchinloss can hear it loud and clear. If this doesn't go well for him I think his future at bp is not promising. I would not be overly worried about q4 results on 11th Feb.

He capitulated and made unrealistic commitments that could not be funded without fossil fuels generating the profits to pay for it all. But I blame the government equally for the pressure that was brought to beare not only to move to renewables but to force his hand and walk away from our stake in Rosneft. But these individuals never have to account for their stupidity.
