Same here ITT. Some of the stuff the grandchildren are asking Father Xmas for means I go to the magic money tree they think I own lol.
Love Xmas though, magical seeing the innocence of the kids and their excitement, worth every penny.

I do agree GI is very competitive and it remains to see if Aviva can maintain a price premium ,which I doubt, most people want the cheapest they can get. As you say they need to concentrate on running what they retain efficiently . I've said in the past Aviva is like a supertanker trying to turn with one engine. Amanda's at the wheel though and I'm holding long term.

Aviva can grow the Life/Investment side with Bulk Purchase Annuity schemes, something they have been doing for a while as have L and G.
General Insurance products are a competitive market and something I think with General Insurance Aviva will go for quality/larger margins as opposed to being competitive . I know from personal experience Aviva prices for Home ,Motor and Travel insurance have rocketed compared to many peers
I'm not even convinced Aviva will remain a composite insurer long term. It wouldn't surprise me if the General Insurance arm is next to go, I guess time will tell.

Aviva hardly have a good record with acquisitions and mergers, hence they have had a clear out of the dead wood.

Sitting pretty thanks, you know the situation with the bottom drawer shares. My trading shares your nearly correct there is a 100 in my holding number, happy to give you a Xmas gift .......average is single figure and I've taken a small sum of cash out. If JC does ever deliver I will be a very happy bunny as will my grandkids.
Meanwhile interesting things happening with one of my other holdings ,so not posting too much here at the minute, that and the amount of football on TV I seem to be working harder than when I was at work ! COVID and inflation could be short term problem for the markets though.

In my opinion the takeover will never happen anyway so for me irrelevant. PIs can either grumble about manipulation or play the same game. These guys don't give money away. Just awaiting Drahi,s next step and a "deal" with DT.

Just pointing out the reality. You don't need to worry about me, my trading shares have an average of less than 4p and I've taken some cash off the table. Ive said before if you know how CC works it's an easy trading share ..fact.

What makes you think a correction to 30p Tony? The only consistency here for the last 10 days is the drop in share price. ITT may get his 17p yet.

Hi ITT. Have to agree with you and I did forecast those scenario a while back. Unfortunately, over the years we have seen this trend many times. My 16p key SP without news prior to Xmas is ,sadly for some looking more likely. Fingers crossed I am wrong and way out!

WAW you are Pork. Since your Oct 2020 rant and recommendation the SP is up from around £2.50 to £4. Anyone with a long term view to investing as opposed to your day to day penny trades know you talk rubbish. Clearly someone who has,somehow, through his naivity and incompetance ,amazingly lost significant amounts of money even with the opportunity to investing Covid provided.

The problem is as usual, promises without substance and ongoing updates from CC always see the SP drift. We are almost 25% down from recent highs. I feel sorry for the many newcomers now seriously trapped here. Those Laths know this and if they have any sense have a trading method to benefit themselves. That's not if course to say it won't improve, but not this side of Xmas I think.

Morning Tony. Make no mistake I am happier than a happy person in happy town ! Never bothered with the voodoo some call charts lol. Prefer to stick with facts and reality. If JC does come out with a stunner as you put it I think it will be a first. Time for him to stop the talking and start the walking! Not sure if the rumours around the new COVID strain have helped any of the markets to be fair. I personally feel it's over hyped but who knows.

Problem is though Tony those who bought in on the hype a week or so back are now sitting on a 20% plus loss at the minute. Hopefully it will bounce back for them. As I said I'm always suspicious of big rises in SP on no real substantive news.

Why the steady drop in SP? If CC were involved one would have thought the opposite. Now before anyone questions me,it's not negativity. Something doesn't smell right to me, is the SP being held or are CC not involved in this one? Time will tell I guess.
