The Sparkle Power SA fuel test results are not yet public, as Quadrise and Sparkle Power are waiting for the official conclusions from the engine manufacturer and client. The fuel trials in Panama, which use Quadrise's MSAR® and bioMSAR™ fuels on a MAN four-stroke diesel engine, have been completed to the satisfaction of the onsite teams. A successful outcome would lead to commercial Fuel Supply Agreements with Sparkle Power and further regional discussions.

The sea trade article that Rob79 posted the other mentioned four stroke efficiency using MSAR, so the results are known, hopefully get an update on this soon

There are too many factors that match Valkor in the Uinta basin including shallow oil and 1000000cs viscosity which won’t be replicated in other Utah basins.

Details of the Utah Project

Technology:

Cavitas installed its THOR (THermal Oil Recovery) system, a mechanically powered downhole heater that uses intense, precisely controlled heat to mobilize heavy oil.

Challenge:

The well contained ultra-heavy oil, which was too viscous to flow using conventional methods, and initially produced 0 barrels of oil per day.

Outcome:

The THOR technology successfully generated heat in the wellbore, reducing the oil's viscosity and enabling production, which increased to over 60 barrels of oil per day.

Impact:

The project unlocked a previously inaccessible resource, allowed for the booking of reserves, and is now a permanent part of the well's completion, with further engineering work planned to enhance commercial viability.

Hopefully get some samples sorted and get this project underway shortly now that oil is being recovered at long last

In the Americas, the company completed fuel trials with Sparkle Power in Panama. Quadrise said the on-site teams had expressed satisfaction with performance, but it is still awaiting the formal conclusions from the engine manufacturer and the client.

A successful outcome would allow negotiations on supply agreements to proceed, as well as support discussions with other regional power producers. The tests are particularly significant for Quadrise as they represent the first use of MSAR and bioMSAR on MAN four-stroke diesel engines, expanding the technology’s potential applications.

Currently operating in Utah, USA, THOR is proving its ability to transform wells where conventional methods fall short. Setting a new global benchmark for EOR technology.

Don’t know if this is in relation to Valkor, but for some reason the location is not being made available, we know Valkor brought Cavitas in as the Down hole heaters they originally used were not capable of producing sufficient quantities of oil.

Sn88, I can’t find the original link, someone will, but it was proven some months ago that Cavitas were brought in to solve the issues surrounding Valkor deposits. If I have time later I will try to find the link.

By generating intense, precisely controlled heat, THOR successfully enabled oil production. With remote operation and real-time monitoring, our team optimised performance from anywhere, ensuring the well operated at its best.

This installation has removed a major hurdle to making the field commercially viable. Engineering work is now underway to further refine the well design, with THOR now a permanent part of the completion.

MSAR® and bioMSAR™ are emulsion fuels that disperse oil droplets at a much smaller size than conventional HFO. This enhanced dispersion increases surface area for combustion, enabling near-complete energy conversion.

As a result, these fuels produce no visible soot, reduce NOx emissions by up to 45%, and lower CO₂ by up to 9% for MSAR® and by over 20% for bioMSAR™. That’s a similar emissions profile to LNG, without the risks of methane slip.

With better atomisation, lower combustion temperatures, and compatibility with existing engine infrastructure, MSAR® and bioMSAR™ offer a practical route to cleaner marine and industrial fuel use.
