quadrise, a specialist in water-based fuel emulsions, is gearing up to demonstrate its solution at commercial scale in the third quarter of 2025. in collaboration with global commodities partner cargill and leading carrier msc, the company will produce its msar® and biomsar™ fuels at an antwerp facility, using bio- and conventional feedstocks supplied by cargill, before bunkering them for sea trials aboard msc vessels.

I recently wrote an article about how emulsion fuels can provide the shipping industry with a practical, cost-effective pathway to reduce emissions and meet tightening regulations, following MEPC 83.

With new standards set to come through by the IMO in October, some fuels like LNG and certain biofuels could face penalties under the Global Fuel Standard. Chief Technology Officer Jason Miles and Interim CEO Andy Morrison will be attending the Decarbonizing Shipping Forum in Hamburg on 25–26 June. 

 

Jason will be speaking on Day 1 at 11:50, joining the discussion on "Fuelling the Marine Net-Zero Transition to 2050?” 

 

As the maritime industry strives to meet the IMO’s net-zero ambitions, practical and scalable fuel solutions remain a core challenge. Jason will explore how technologies like MSAR® and bioMSAR™ can support this transition by delivering less carbon- intensive solutions that are easily integrated and commercially viable for the existing fleet. 

Seems to have been re-routed, Felixstowe, Antwerp and then direct to Gebze Turkiye, visiting Istanbul, Gemlik and Tekirdag before returning direct to Felixstow. Good steaming duration for the PoC and Lono if we can get it underway.

That’s got to be the million dollar question Bc, my rosy outlook would put it at 23/06/25. Hope to be proved correct, major service on car next week, be nice to have a little help.

It’s a case of building the portfolio of feedstocks to satisfy both MSC and Cargill that we can deliver the bioMsar and Msar zero fuels once the trials are complete.

It is a pleasure to be part of this collaboration integrating cutting-edge technologies into 4 retrofit and 4 new-build vessel designs. Once complete, the SEASTARS project will offer practical, scalable solutions that empower shipowners and naval architects to design and operate greener, more efficient vessels.

It would have to be in warranty, so quite a new kiln, that would be my take. Outside of warranty and OCP take it on themselves to make the decision.

It sounds like we are ready for take off.

We are making changes in Quadrise to support our future growth. We have dissolved the position of COO and created a role of CCO to focus my efforts where it is currently required. As CCO, I will lead the company’s licensing business development, operations and technology deployment activities, ensuring the successful delivery of Multifuel Manufacturing Units (MMUs) to customer sites — both at refineries and bunkering locations. This role will own the operational delivery of Quadrise's’s fuel production systems at scale, overseeing all aspects of engineering, logistics, licensing support, and operational readiness.

I am responsible for developing new offtake channels in the heavy industry and power generation sectors in EMEA, Central & South America, and Asia (World Outside North America) to build resilient demand for Quadrise's fuels, to support large-scale production.

This pivotal leadership position, bridges the company’s strategic vision and technical capabilities with real-world implementation.

After the Edison investor presentation and that directors talk piece, it may point to big investment coming our way or in need for scale up. Our staff seem to be pi55ing out straight doing various presentations, roadshows or interviews, a mere 2 weeks till leandra is back at Antwerp.

Leandra is due into Antwerp on the 23rd, departing for Rotterdam on the 24th arriving on the 25th for 24hrs before departing for Bremerhaven after which she sails direct to New York, fingers crossed she sails on our fuel.
