I suspect they have had informal approaches from much bigger entities with a view to a takeover.

Many such approaches start as informal and friendly but if after a while the Predator doesn't get a decent hearing they can go hostile. In such situations it would be quite easy for the Predator to offer a decent premium to the current Market Price (let's say 10p a share) a 150%+ premium to the current price and most retail and even Institutions would snap their hands off. Current Management would be out of a job and they (and us) would miss out on the real upside to 100p+ potentially. So it is in the interests of the current Management to get the message out there they are stupidly undervalued.

There have been instances where friendly acquirers will make an initial approach and give the Current Management a 'go shop' grace period where they'll say something along the lines of we'll pay 10p now but we take into account your view you can't recommend what you view as a 'low ball' offer so we'll give you a period of time to try to get the valuation up or time to go shop the Company to other potential acquirers or even add in a CVR (contingent value right) which gives some future upside dividend a few years down the line.

They pointedly referenced fact they hadn't received any milestones/royalties in last financial year. Could they be anticipating some milestones/royalties this coming year ? Presumably these are paid quarterly in arrears so they already may have sight of some due to come in based on their Partners published work and/or conversations etc ?

Moving Forwards

The focus of the Company's personalised dosing initiatives going forwards will be to expand the capability of the software to support dosing decision making around not only chemotherapeutic agents but GCSF. Both the ongoing PREDICT-ONC study and potential secondary research with DoseMe clients in the US will support this objective. In parallel, the Company is seeking ways to make the blood sampling required by its software more convenient for patients. This can potentially be achieved by using the software in other settings where frequent blood sampling already occurs, but also through exploration of the use of new diagnostic devices that can obtain and analyse blood samples in community or home settings (such at that being developed by our partner company Beyond Blood Diagnostics).

As the Company continues to develop its personalised dosing software, it will actively consider the most appropriate way to ring fence resources for this part of its business. Options under consideration include creation of a dedicated business unit, creation of a wholly owned subsidiary or a joint venture with a party with complementary technology/ capabilities. As further progress is made towards one of these, further updates will be provided accordingly.

That might explain FAB reticence about putting out newsflow. Their Brokers probably told them there is a seller in the market so any news will just allow the sellers to sell into it. Let them go and then reward the new holders with the good news unencumbered by the past.
