Ceejay.You could easily run a human challenge on Flu V in fact I am sure that is what they do in Flu Camp.
There are no ethical issues with flu but most Fiu Vax are very effective and most of the population has a degree of herd imo its.
Biggest issue is predicting the antigenic strains in the field in anyone year hence the need for a universal Flu Vax.
Major benefit of doing HC studies would be in event of a new flu strain like a HVN1 bird flu type.

Thanks for being so candid but everyone can chose when to buy and sell whenever they choose.
As Jimzi says if you watch every SP movement and do get emotionally attached you will find the ride a roller coaster.
Yesterday afternoon would be euphoric and today the opposite.But if I said to you yesterday morning we would have been where we are now you would probably be very happy.
Anyway I have found it is best to not be too attached and watching the screens 24/7 is best left to the “ professionals” who are operating a variety of positions.
It is mentally tiring but the name of the game is profit and you will have achieved that so worth celebrating even though I am very confident in the next few months taking us to much higher levels of the SP

Hope you are well and enjoying your investment on your recent share ( Presume you bought in after presentation.).
This strain may well have been around for a while but the interesting bit is the proportion of the field strains currently being isolated and this effects how serious a threat Covid 19 is.
Works in a similar way to any resistant population such as Antibiotics where the resistant or hard to kill population or say more Potent antigenic strain in this case becomes the dominant force.

I find you learn more from these after meeting AGM chats and we had a really good chat about US strategy and he talked about the attempts to get closer to China.
AB124 you make a very important point and one in which has relevance to the news today.
By your own admission you have not been as closely involved here but your contribution is not diminished by this in fact imo it is enhanced.
You bring an outside view and can probably see things more clearly than if you are immersed in the minutiae of SCLP debate.
In the same way it reminded me of a conversation I had with RG about the composition of the BoD and whether there was a choice between a “ close cosy” team and maybe a more “ disruptive” in a positive sense one by bringing in more external people.
His response was it was a very good question but they felt in a small team it was probably better it already know each other.
I accepted his argument but have wondered if they have been guilty of being too cosy in the past.
However today’s news is more reflective of my view and as such I welcome the news

Yes she could be a valuable addition but see there is some comment about NE roles comparing Directors with Chairmen like DE but there is a clear distinction between the two involving their roles based on areas of responsibility.
Yes she can provide contacts and expertise etc but her involvement is essentially to attend BoD Meetings and provide a wider input as well as her Committee work setting Pay levels etc and bit to get directly involved with M&A activity

Sorry if that was not clear which is why I said US strategy which I thought was well known re the San Diego office set up,RG comments re US Patient Advocacy Groups, and AL recruitment and nothing to do with Redmile.
I am sure the SCLP strategy was not to seek out a US cornerstone investor as a keyboard of its US future but the involvement of Redmile has been a tremendous coup.
I talked to Alan at length at a recent AGM and he discussed his role and that the planned US expansion had not worked out as they thought.
Hope any health issues can be helped by stepping back and I do think she is a good appointment.
Does anyone know if this brings them up to strength and interesting that Redmile have not insisted on BoD representation but know from previous ious comments from John Glencross about he us kept fully informed of progress on a regular basis

Yes e ho best wishes for Akan Lewis and the need to replace him on the Audit Committee would be a pre requisite and also as the US strategy has stalled the need for him has lessened.Plus if he has stepped back due to health issues then there is a need for a new NED.
Would not read to much into her appt re being a planned move but the opportunity does give SCLP more balance and expertise in a crucial area abd her real contribution imo is in adding to strategic direction if BoD rather than the deal making.
These are NEDs and are restricted in their activities which some don’t seem to fully appreciate

AIM pharma getting a lot of attention ATM and rightfully so.Plus City Financial and then Acacia selling stakes over last 12-18 months gave a great opportunity to buy low in many good shares.
After being burnt I now look for a much more diversified P/F within these AIM bio pharma and we have a great
one here.
Plus it is profitable and that is very unusual in AUM bio pharma hence always need to raise with a great CEO aligned to SH.

Yes there is still a risk the MHRA will not Approve but imo this is extremely unlikely.
Why.
1.Covid 19 is perhaps the biggest threat the world has faced and a desperate need to progress the science.
2.Advanced discussions with govt.If there was a chance this would be refused these would nit have gone so far.
3.Are the govt going to try every option to sort this crisis out.Imo yes.
4. Most important the community infection rate is only 8% so a huge need for HC if the community challenge is not high enough to progress many of the Vax trials.

Nice appt and feel will be an upgrade though hope AL health issues are OK

My knowledge of adjuvants especially Aluminium based ones is all to do with Viral Vax and is simply there to improve the efficacy especially when it is killed or attenuated antigen etc.
Seems the adjuvant has a much wider role in cancer Vax which you have highlighted.
Hope you enjoyed digging in the allotment.
