In my area, we still have all the agency staff that were employed in August.

Their contracts were meant to be ended in January.

So, despite RM saying that the 10,000 FTE equivalents would be gone "starting" with agency staff, i'm yet to see this in delivery.

In fact, i'd say as an area, despite the duty/head count reductions, we are pretty much where we were. Including the USO failures.

Their hands are completely tied with the USO. And they continue to fail in hundreds of offices. Is that down to unachievable workloads? Or because management are not doing what they should be? I mentioned this earlier.

Very poor management. From the very, very ignorant at the very, very top. All the way down to COMs.

Regarding the next round of (enforced) revisions. A big meeting with the planners in my local MC recently, and the majority of COMs said this had no chance of being successful.

As for buying at a quid? I revised it upwards. Despite the issues within RM, it's taking a long time to drop. Looking at 120p now. Although it doesn't have the same ring as a quid.

I have given you a reason why the USO is not profitable. That is in one office, not mine.

If this is indicative in 50% of offices, you may see why higher management think savings could be made. And indeed, OFCOM.

You are obviously well versed in all things RM. So, you should know all the ins and outs of how they perform. Alongside the justificaton for their huge salary increase last year.

I get that your knowledge about all things RM, doesn't stretch far. But please listen to the people who know.

The USO is still in place because OFCOM think that RM are failing on the service they should provide.

They also think that the reason RM are failing to make any profit is because it is being mis-managed.

Try to take this on board. It may be difficult, but read it a few times and you may understand.

One example of an office where the managers reported very large failures. The PDA actuals showed that the amount of staff that returned to the office early, could have been sent out again to mitigate this failure. Or, they could have prepped this mail and taken it out with them.

Whose fault is this?

I cannot see any takeover not covering any current agreements in place. I could be wrong though.

I have it on good authority, from somebody "in the know, maybe inside" that he will.

I have also heard that before he purchases the last 4.5%, that he's waiting for a quid.

I'm not sure how true it is, but this will not be good for the share price.

I'm not really sure what the problem with the USO is.

OFCOM did a study and it showed that 97% of people were quite happy to have a reduced service.

However, they nor the government deem it fit to reduce the USO as it currently stands.

OFCOM decide whether or not RM can make it profitable. They say yes, RM say no. RM have not got a leg to stand on at the moment. Despite the clear failings within some delivery offices, it would appear that it's the managers who are not up to scratch.

The maniacal rantings on here about DW and the CWU using the USO to support jobs, is quite frankly absurd. We are bound by the USO. It's not the fault of the CWU, as many here would believe.

I will reiterate, it is not the posties or CWU fault the USO exists. If it's reduced or taken away, then we would have to live by that.

DerekR made a very good point. Why take away the 6 day USO to line the pockets of shareholders? I'm soon to be one, by the way. LOL.

I agree with you. And believe it or not, i agree with RM's stance on this.

I've mentioned it before, and stick by what i say.

However, i also mentioned that a work colleague had 2 life threatening illnesses within 2 years. He wasn't taking the p*ss, obviously. But in cases like his, maybe it should be reviewed.
