I don't think Q1 will be as bad as last year apparently was. RM have got what they want. Capex for Daventry is apparently winding down. I believe the agreement will be voted through. It's my opinion on how creative things can be, and will show it's true colours in Q2.

Factor in that the managers have had their fill of extreme pay rises and bonuses (Thompson excepted), and you get to where i'm at.

Neither do they have to deliver other items to 600+ addresses.

Do you think amazon, evri, parcel pete, etc, go to 600 addresses every day?

Of course they don't!

So, RM are segregating parcels and letters (to a degree).

These are called DPR's. Dedicated parcel routes.

And i doubt very much that these other couriers are delivering 250+ items per day, in 7hrs 30 minutes. As you allude to.

I was given a mangers view of why they think savings can be made.

One office i know of, has been failing daily. However, the PDA actuals have shown that the levels of failure can be mitigated by staff who finish early.

Who's to blame? Sh*t managers, who allow their staff to come in early and go home early? That's assuming they are still at work. Or the idiotic posties who come in early, don't take breaks and still think job and finish is allowed?

I know that one office had all their parcels walk sorted recently. Only once though. Not to shared van duties, but to each walk. Why can't this be a thing, going forward.

Sick leave down in my office. Attrition - zero. Head count needed, down. Because of the most recent table top revision. It will be interesting to find out the figures, nationally. 10,000 FTE's gone? Including agency? Nah.

This is interesting. As i posted yesterday RM want 270 hours out of my office with 4 DPR's put in. The base data, i've been told, suggests that this is definitely achievable. But nobody can tell me what the base data is.

Is it volumes and mix? Is it sort and prep times? Is it indoor and outdoor actuals?

And i cannot wait for the years figures. 150M (possibly) lost in the past three months? Yet no losses for Q2 and Q3?

More interestingly though will be the figures for Q1.

Basically encouraging RM management to say yes, we'll agree to look at revisions and how e do things moving forward.

This will be communicated to the members, who will then be encouraged by this new stance by RM, to vote yes.

And we are where we were.

A box ticking exercise, and even before this i was 100% that it would have been a yes vote.

As for me saying that it's a great deal, i didn't.

I said the CWU have done a sterling job.

They have put out a communication, again, showing what RM wanted and what RM have actually got. Much in line with what i was saying yesterday.

The deal is not good. I'm voting no. For my reasons, which i have posted many times.

Which does not include any pay deal.

I forgot to address the sick policy.

Outside of serious illness, i don't think this would have a bearing on me.

For example: a workmate had 2 serious illnesses within 2 years. Does the new sick policy address that? No.

However. People do take advantage. And believe it or not, the majority of posties do not like it.

As for me? I had 3 weeks off with flu in 2021. In the years after and probably 10 years before i cannot remember being sick.

Yeah. 92M loss in Q1. 300M loss in the 9 months up to end of December. 200M attributed to IA. I'm assuming this will cover agency payments too. Or at least i'd hope it does.

So in Q2 and Q3 there would have been minimal losses without IA.

Do you agree?

Q4 predictions. Is it about 450M loss for the full year? So another 150M loss for Q4. Again, i'll assume that these figures cover the agency staff we still have in place.

Go on. Tell me that these figures are about the impact of IA. Or would you like to wait until Thursday and read what the accountants have to say?
