So this dispute started in January last year with discussions on pay.

Since then the blue collar workers have had endured executive action on several fronts, including that fantastic 2% pay increase. We have been allowed to go on (up to 18 days) strike. The business didn't bat an eyelid. Managers have had huge pay increases, plus bonuses for attending work, as well as not attending. And had vouchers gifted to them for working their days off.

So, while i agree that the CWU has definitely been weakened, i'm not sure how this has equated into shareholder value.

Wasn't the share price about 4 and a half quid in Jan 2022? How is the fact that RM have clearly weakened the CWU, making your investment better? Take your 26p dividend and the fantastic share buybacks into account if you want too.

The fact of the matter is that you are losing more money because of RM's actions, not the posties.

I'll even stick my neck out and suggest that you have lost paper money in the past 18 months than any postie has lost through IA. Even though i know you don't have much.

Do you actually believe what you have posted? If we posties are at fault, then it's up the management to drag us into line. Would you not agree? And if they don't, they are not doing what they should be. Yes? No?

Do you agree with JBT that RM should put finance back into the company though agency, uplifting hours or recruitment? Aren't the (supposed) removal of these very things meant to put the company back on a sound finacial footing? Is it next year? And if these current money saving measures are failing, who is to blame for it? The posties? Or themanagement for not implementing these changes correctly? I'm all ears.

If you have this extensive knowledge, then you will know exactly what i mean.

Delivery offices are end of chain. This is where the USO failures are. You can blame any amount of processing, but when that item is in the D.O, that's when it fails.

So, essentially, what you are saying, is put back everything that has been implemented by "white collar workers" to mitigate these failures. Is that correct? Thereby saying that something, somewhere has failed?

If the posties are not doing what they should be, then it's a management issue. Thereby, not doing what they are paid to do. Managing.

Regarding recruiting extra staff on lower t's and c's. Wasn't this also part of the new agreement, not to go forward on this?

I stand to be corrected on this.

There is a FT/PT ratio that has been in place for some years, but is always revised. When a F/T member leaves, then a P/T member is uplifted, or not. As the ratio needs to be maintained. Assuming that you are fully staffed.

I know dozens of managers, and dozens of planners.

Something is implemented in D.O's, and then the planners walk away. Generally leaving chaos.

It's left to the COM's to pick up the pieces. Or report failures. Or worse still, pay overtime.

Your post does not suggest that you know any posties, or have any working knowledge of what happens in delivery offices.

One other thing. I do not disagree with any changes at all. All i want is for them to be implemented correctly.

By the very people who get paid very well to do that job. I could write an essay on what i know, and how creative people can be. From both sides of the spectrum.

So please, don't try to discredit anything i say, or know, just because you used to be a white collar worker.

I'll say it again: If managers did their jobs, in line with what the hierarchy want, we wouldn't be having this conversation. You can make up your own mind whether or not i'm defending COM's.

The agency should have been the first to go, as was agreed. In delivery we have at least the same number in my area, as we did in August 2022. So why would they employ more agency to cover "failed" revisions?

An increase in P/T hours? That would be interesting as the early morning work should be covered by F/T staff. If this were to happen does it mean that management cannot "resource to workload" efficiently. And would the indoor/outdoor actuals be checked, to verify this uplift?

A little bit of recruitment? After paying out VR? I know that RM have brought back managers on 40K, 9 month contracts. Would they make themselves look even more stupid to recruit against redundancies?

IMO, the management in RM is absolutely diabolical. It starts at the very top. And believe me, they have no idea whatsoever, and filters all the way down to the lowest level. Who are now trying to clear their offices, in any way possible.

I wouldn't mind watching it again after reading more into the company.

From what i can glean, things are not as the BOD would like, but they are taking steps to remedy this. Spain being a prime example.

I particularly like , rightly or wrongly, the fact that the dividend is apparently unaffected. The little man is happy, but the big hitters will be pleased. Very pleased.

You are quite vocal here. Do you not take any positives out of the fact that the new CEO knows VOD inside out, and can probably see where the issues are?

Also the fact that E& were mentioning upping their stake past 15%, to get another seat on the board? Is this not a positive?

The CEO of E& (if i heard this correctly) was a previous CEO of VOD. His knowledge would be hugely beneficial if he was to be on the board of VOD.

Your opinion will be valued, as i'm looking to buy, and appreciate all comments, for and against.

How are RM meant to deal with what appears to be a failed revision?

Do they look at vacancies and think that if they were filled the revision wouldn't fail?

Do they look at sickness and think that if there wasn't any (i believe that RM "allow" for 3.5% sickness of staff, in post) then the revision wouldn't fail?

Do they look at indoor and outdoor actuals, to determine the why the office is failing?

Do they look at volume of mail, manual sorting and prep speeds within the indoor actuals?

Do they look at what the actual postie does inside and outside the office?

Do the managers manage their staff effectively?

But most importantly, how do you rectify failed revisions?

Employ more staff?

Or, will the managers be made to manage, and finally justify their 30% increase in salary?

As an outsider looking in, i thought it was positive.

The dividend is obviously good, and there appeared to be no immediate issues with paying it, going forward.

The 3% fixed rate was something that i noticed.

Dealing with the biggest issues, seemed to be top of the agenda.

And what appears to be a clear plan in place, is good to see.
