I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Just for discussion.
I wanted to ask on opinion about the “SUV derivatives”.
Do you guys think they will introduce SUV’s like Porsche cayenne coupes? I cant really imagine for them making an X7 or GLS type of car.
Today’s fall isn’t only attributed to AML’s q1 earnings. It’s also to do with the huge losses mounting in the ftse100 and 250 today. It seems like the stock market is in for another huge downward swing as investorS wake up to the Reality that vivid will be here the rest of the year.
I am invested in AML have been since last year. I am not saying it was a wise choice. I believe in the brand, love the look of the cars. I honestly think the problem is that they are have a capex of 280 million adding money into the mid engine line up and a pandemic Hit globally which forced them to shut factories but more importantly the sales team couldn’t sell cars in vast majority of markets. Although I think there is potential in next few years, they need another injection now to carry them through. This is unless stroll has some magic and somehow cuts the losses in the company.
I honestly don’t know. At the moment I would rather sit this through and go all in what I have in at the moment and wait it out if it survives great if it doesn’t i still havnt lost that much.
Do remember guys, ferrari went public after years of being private and having cash injected into it. They developed mid engines cars for years while spreading the cost out. Now all they do is tweak the old car and sell high.
The question is can AMl get into this position? I have no idea as I dont have access to files about the future and q2 earnings and future cash burn.
I dont think they have any idea what they are saying. Maybe they are just trying to make up for their mistake 2 years ago. If this goes back down to 50, I will stock up more for the long run. This has potential in q3, q4, when the Valkyrie and dbx starts to be produced in mass.
I really don’t care about the short term on this stock. If you look at any carmaker like Bentley or Rolls Royce they had huge cash injections 500-1bil£ when they got merged with VW and BMW.
Aston M just got this cash injection, won’t see the result till about a year or two time. This is not an overnight thing.
This share needs a good kick by some form of positive news to move high.
Example: re open factory, order book, outlook.
I hope q3,4 will be positive with the Valkyrie and the dbx.
Hopefully they have high orders for the vantage cabriolet.
I am happy to hold for years to get profit on this share.
Ok thanks,
I didn’t find that anywhere on my accounts
Hello,
I wanted to ask someone who is familiar with the matter. Since they declared an interim div instead of final div payment. When is the ex dividend date of centamin? They only mentioned payment date of 15th May.
Well 98% of rights was taken up which I think is positive. The only question is how loyal the bigger shareholders are to Stroll. If they just in it for cash, they will start dumping large amounts. But I doubt that will be the case.
Yes I have also read that almost the entire car is a replica of the merc F1 car in terms of the aero. I guess They just gave them the design CAD of the car ??. It will be interesting to see if next year they out compete McLaren, Williams, and Renault. Out of nowhere Aston moves rapidly to top 4.
There is definitely potential with this share (in my opinion) especially with current valuation, and cash after the whole capital raise Is complete. There are a lot of people brought to the party who have resources, and expertise in making a luxury brand appeal. Cash is only one part of the equation but I think its great that Stroll has his F1 team for branding and tech to share with astons cars.
Just time is needed to make it happen.
It will be interesting to see the opening price on Monday, it might be a roller coaster ride :)
I agree with you on Monday being the day when it is possible to receive the shares if you had taken them up.
But then how do you explain the two Additional Listings RNS’s on 31st March for 76000000shares and another 1.2 billion shares on the RNS 1st April? The first one was a placing share and the second was new shares placing. The share price dropped dramatically on the 1st April. So didn’t the dilution happen on the 1st of April?
My point is how is it possible they issued the new placing shares on 31 at March and the New shares on 1st April. It showed up on my account. The share price got diluted . How is it possible that Wolff and others are diluted on 20th April???????
I dont get it
I just want to ask others opinion about this. There has been a lot of RNS’s about holdings in AML yesterday, including one from Toto Wolff and other holders. Just to take an example, the last one said that Toto Wolff had over 4% stake.
But online articles are saying his stake will be diluted down because of the issue to 1%. However, I thought the share dilution Happened already in April 1st when the restricted 4:1 shares got issued. Thats why the SP got re valued and Market capitalisation jumped on 1st April.
So my question is: did he invest before April and the RNS is showing up now? Or am I totally misunderstanding the Dilution?
Johnpwh, That’s basically summing up my opinion.
This covid 19 will change a lot of things though in many markets. I dont know how it will change the car market maybe a lot of people will go electric, but petrol cars will be around a long more time as i said in my previous posts. But maybe a lot more will switch to a hybrid backup which is fine as you still get the pistons haha.
I dont have any problem with hydrogen except for the fact that it’s really wasteful to actually make it using electrolysis.
I could write here a whole essay on fuel cell vs bev tech but in my opinion as a summery; very little research and money went into these two techs compared to Diesel and petrol. That means that there is vast amounts of knowledge that is still undiscovered in both technologies. But in my opinion at the moment battery fully electric cars will be the next 100 years, with maybe some hydrogen on the side in economies that can’t convert to the energy demand that the batteries need to top up.
The tech is already their in terms of batteries and keeps on coming with I think in the next 5 years tesla will make a car that cost same as model s at the moment but can travel 1000miles on a charge with the cost being same just looking from past and how quick tech evolves in exponential manner. In terms of taxing I think there will be different schemes in different countries. There are certainly a lot of ways that they could find a way to tax bev cars its just about finding the right and fair way. Maybe not tax them and get the revenue from elsewhere?
But I dont really want to talk about it here cause it’s AML chat :) who make the best sounding and looking cars in the market I think. Petrol cars still have a long life expectancy especially the very high luxury market as if I had millions or billions of pounds I certainly wouldn’t want to wait 30-40 min at a recharge station in todays world. But I guess that’s where tesla are going making a totally different network setup at nice shopping malls and hotels mostly free parking to charge in order to appease their buyers instead of charging at open space and 3rd party providers.
Just to say the ferrari Are not making hybrid stradale in order to make it more efficient in terms of economy but to make it faster when gear changes are made which totally shows that petrol engines are not dead yet as not even ferrari are worried about fuel consumption.
