Use our precious working capital to buy back our own shares, hold them safely ‘in treasury’, then award themselves using them !

Self-awarded bonuses in shares for failing to grow our business…. look at the SP as a measure of how much they deserve any bonuses.

Maybe better to use our precious cash at bank to pay down some of our humungous debt., but that would be gross mis-management, wouldn’t it ?

A simpleton’s question: are the buyback shares being immediately deleted or - that old smokescreen «being safely held in treasury» for later distribution in bonuses to our fearless leaders ?

Please enlighten.

Over quota exporting of oil, substantial donations from Uncle Sam, delayed, short and outright non-payments of deliveries from the likes of our good selves….. and the population are still at subsistence standards of existence.

Begs the question «where on earth are these monies being syphoned off to, and by whom ??

A thorough, in depth investigation of the usual suspects needs to be initiated and their squirreled plunder returned to the population.

Priorities for a proactive and savvy BoD - saddled with a business making positive returns should be:

Minimize debt, expand the business, upgrade plant, acquisitions, reward investors….

Buybacks NEVER produce a measurable return for the working capital lost into them.

They are a default action for a BoD who haven’t a clue about the business they are reaping eyewatering salaries and bonuses from.

Process of disclosing the contracts is being understandably delayed due to it being the best ever season for the tribals raking off bumper profits from selling the Region’s oil to whoever.

Expect a shortage of ‘the right sort of biscuits’ will undoubtedly cause abandonment of all planned meetings.

It seems to be the duty of every familly head to set the fine example of pilferring and cheating to his progeny.

Not to worry - we’ll soon be back to a penny a share (in old money) which is probably where we belong, then we can all relax and take it on the chin for being daft enough to get involved,

Oh dear…. The next spate of buybacks will ultimately be dished out to the BoD via the usual “we’ll hold these cancelled shares ‘in treasury for you’ “ ruse.

They will then be distributed among the team, as ordained.

They will drop them like hot bricks - as soon as they can recognize a convenient rally in the SP….. (eg eventual opening of the pipeline, or whatever).

Remember:

This is only bean counting dressed up in fancy words to bamboozle us naive shareholders !

BoD should be taking pro-active steps to reduce our perceived exposure to the punitive and surely pending ‘windfall tax’ Sir Starmer needs from the likes of us - to balance his accumulating spends on war, salary increases to medics/ teachers and spiraling social costs.

I guess 365 days should be about 250, $27/bbl a bit optimistic too as wasn’t SOMO/ICG mumbling about $6/bbl ?

…. And don’t forget we will have to pay our chunk of APIKUR’s hefty fee (for their stolid contributions to the cause) and of course our BoD want a painfull chunk for their extraneous efforts - over and above their eye watering salaries.

My crystal ball still says that Bernard was solidly on the right track with renewables - and with that strategy’s associated social acceptance growing as we tumble doggedly onward to the +1.5’C point of no return….. we may ultimately regret his demise.

Concern that our BoD have been supplying illegal sanction busting oil knowingly to the tribal families for export to Iran.

They may get hauled up for this, so their forthcoming bonuses should be taken out of our buyback shares asap !

You must be catching on to the game by now Rog….. the bulk (if not all) of the next $10m tranche of buybacks will be off ‘to treasury’ to reward the BoD themselves for their stolid efforts and glittering results over the year on our behalf.

Witness our SP and the mounting unpaid debts.

A savvy BoD would be investing in acquisitions, plant and well stock upgrades, taking our debtors to Court……. Take yer pick.

The blow will be softened by the coming dividend.

1) KPI’s for managing this little company such as achieving their own production targets, ensuring bills are paid according to contract terms (and actions to be enforced when these are not met).

3) Salaries offered and accepted would have reflected the duties to be performed, in the region designated, at the risks outlined.

Self awarding fabulous bonuses for hanging around while patently failing to meet any of the above - will be farcical.
