Two infantile comments:

1) if buybacks are being held back - maybe, just maybe the BoD know of a depressing forthcoming event - which will cause a further slaughter to our miniscule SP ?

2) all this accounting black magic re offsetting their debt to us vs our debt to them - must take into account the simple matter of the compounding interest due to us from their debt.

(Hope there is a clause in our contract covering interest due on debt ?).
