People think that they are doing some good through " defending the company " or " providing factual accuracy " through replying to the trolls, however in reality they are just feeding them with what they want. How many replies have been made to SM for example over the bank holiday weekend ? Some of these so called " debates " have been going on until late at night and over a weekend - it's insanity.

Anybody who hasn't green boxed the likes of Doc, Adw and SM are simply contriving to keeping them on this board posting dozens of times a day. It's a complete fallacy to believe that you are defending the company and maintaining factual accuracy through replying to the nonsense that they write. You are simply helping them through giving them attention. For goodness sake - see sense and green box them !

They are not debating - they are simply trolling. And trolls thrive on attention and through goading people.

Hamm ; I think you need to be more be cautious with your price predictions. Didn't you predict 40p for the end of last year ? And 15p I think you said when the LP was granted.

I would be very happy to see a retest of 10p at any stage this year, unless there is a buyout, in which case it could obviously go quite a bit higher.

The one quality you need to be an obsessive, serial deramping troll on here seems to be the abject failure to make the stock market work for you.

Adw, who lost 4k through bad timing when buying and selling his MATD shares, and now loiters around here like some kind of ghoul returning to the scene of where he had a fatal accident.

Doc, who seems to have done really badly with some other Aim companies that he speculated on, and lost money with - including one that was delisted.

And SM, who seems to have made a bit of a disastrous investment in ORCP. That company looks like a slow motion car crash.

So why do they have to obsessively share their thoughts on this company which none of them may even be invested in ? There were green boxes into the early hours the other day - weird behaviour. At least two of them we can be pretty sure are not invested in the company, and the other one we can't be sure about either way.

Whatever they are invested in though, a humble person would think " Ok, I haven't made much of a success of stock market investing, so the last thing I am going to do is to try and influence other people in terms of their decision making. I'm just not in any way fit or qualified to do that."

It's very true that the priority right now is to ramp up production from what we have already with the help of the various fixes. I'll still be casting nervous glances at the price of crude however....

No doubt the likes of Doc and Adw will be willing the oil price lower from now on.....Lol.

As the negs need hundreds of posts in order to waffle on about possible risks, I can do their job for them in one short post....

IMO there are now two basic main risks to this company ;

1) Wells cost $4m each, and there is no way of predicting the performance of a well until the work is complete.

2) The price of oil is volatile, and nobody can predict the future geopolitical factors and OPEC policy decisions which impact on this price. And who could have predicted covid and what that would do to the price of crude oi ?

So for me, a JV will mitigate one of those risks, but not the other, whereas the sale of Heron would mitigate both risks.

Mind you, this does prove how smart MB has been with the Sunsteppe JV venture, as this also insulates the company from those two main risks.

There is a point really, as we are monetising the oil as from this month. And I'm not too clear how the price will be calculated for the oil that has been stored since late October, during which time the price of oil has generally been higher than it is right now.

This is why for me the best option is to sell Heron, so that the company is insulated from any severe weakness in the price of oil over say the next couple of years. Predictions do seem to be for a weak oil price for quite a while to come. Think about what happened to the oil price during covid.

Of course, a deal with China might change this, as would any eruption of conflict in the Middle East.

True - however they seem determined to punish those countries which have broken OPEC agreements through overproduction, and seem willing to screw up their fiscal situation for the time being in order to do this. They are ramping up production for May, and now possibly June as well.

The Saudis need $90 a barrel to balance their budget, however they have seemingly got so obsessed with taking back market share that they seem willing to take a lot of fiscal pain.

At least it will cause a lot of pain to the Russian economy too. And some US oil producers will find it isn't viable for them at these price levels.

Ideally we need Trump to see sense and come to some kind of agreement with China about sensible tariff levels. That's tricky when you have a guy with narcissistic personality disorder as your president....

Like I said yesterday - my biggest concern right now is the current situation regarding the price of crude oil. Unfortunately the imposition of Trump's tariffs and the Saudis getting in a huff about several countries exceeding OPEC production limits have coincided. It had to happen just as we have started monetising our oil ;

TT1981: that's spot on. And some clearly do like the attention of the back and forth. I guess that's where dopamine comes into it - the " I'm more right than you are " stuff is what gives dopamine releases - and it can be addictive.

And that's why I think the best option is to sell Heron. This way the company hedges against future oil price fluctuations brought about courtesy of the Saudis and the orange blob...

Even if the price of oil falls further, the company would then be flush with cash for the development of the other oil fields and also for investment in the renewables side of the business.

Wigster ; it's only when someone spites the shareholders of a given company through peppering its board with a barrage of cynicism and endless negativity that I am likely to take a degree of pleasure in them running into problems with other investments they may have. Besides, if they have had disastrous experiences with other Aim investments then it tends to beg the question ; " why do they persist with the risk of Aim speculation and not buy some high yielding mid or large cap stocks on the main indices ? "

Doc is never objective - his whole attitude to this company is one of cynicism and of an almost morbid pessimism. People will listen to an objective, balanced point of view - I stated before the AGM for example that I believe that it would be too risky for the company to try and develop Heron on its own .

And I tend to take price predictions with a pinch of salt - especially from someone like Hamm who was saying straight after the last RNS that the price would finish the day above 3 or 4p. He says that kind of thing after every positive RNS, and lar year his end of year prediction was massively wrong. I do however look at previous price action, and notice where

liquidity areas are on a chart. Doc by the way called me " an oddball " for talking about charts - even though charts are a visual representation of the past and ongoing price action. I bet he had no idea about this fact....

Maybe you should tell us more about how you allegedly know the guy? Apparently you know what the size of his MATD holding is as well - so why all the secrecy if he's a bona fida MATD investor ?

Nobody has ever given a credible answer which explains the contradiction of why you would invest in a company and then pepper a board every single day with not stop cynicism and sarcasm regarding the merits and future prospects of that same company. Maybe you can explain given that allegedly you know the guy ?
