A decent person with integrity would just note what is happening, form and opinion and then get on with other possible opportunities without making a fuss or making what seem like spiteful comments on a board that would no longer be of any concern to them. I get the impression though that you are a schadenfreude merchant, and not in any way a decent person.

Coops18 obviously is a canny investor given that his OBD is only down by a mere 2,300% since the end of last July....

Where do these people come from ? Is from a finishing school for hopeless investors in the countryside somewhere ?

Coopps18; if I was you I would focus on the mess you have with what seems to be the company you are invested in - OBD.

I mean Oxford Biodynamics is only down from 8.13p at the end of July last year to an amazing 0.36p today.....

I really meant " in the next few days or weeks " rather than in months. We are again in the seasonal window for activity at the site, and things need to move on fast now.

May has tended to be a key month for a significant Matd RNS release, and hopefully this month will be no different.

It's volume that " re-rates " a share price. There are no committees made up of analysts at the MMs who sit periodically to assess whether a micro cap needs to be revalued. Volume means shares changing hand, and it's an indication of the interest in that company at that time if there is plenty of buying volume. A re rate is determined purely by investor supply and demand.

Otherwise, spikes whereby the share price suddenly shoots up and then settles back down to where it started or worse, IMO is simply price manipulation by the MMs, who suddenly hike the share price rapidly in order to create liquidity to sell a load of shares into. We saw that with the 50% rise and then back again in just a couple of days earlier this year.

A genuine rerate requires a lot of extra interest reflected in a lot of extra buying volume which is then sustained over a period of time. Anything else is just price action manipulation.

I am encouraged by the surge in the AIM index since Trump started imposing his tariffs, and generally shaking investor confidence in the stability of the US. It's obvious that there's suddenly a lot more money being put into the junior market. Probably that's money that's been taken out of US shares. So if the company can come up with something exciting in the next few months then hopefully the volume may suddenly surge, and be sustained.

Roxy ; the oil and gas sector on AIM has generally been weak since about May or June last year - that's been another factor. Last time that I checked a basket of AIM O&G companies on this index, I found that nearly all of them had experienced a sharp decrease in their share prices, and for most of them this happened from about the time of our peak back in early June 2024.

That was roughly at the end of last year/early this year that I last checked - I will have to check again how a basket of say 10 AIM O&G shares have done since the start of this year so far.

One important thing worth noting is that since Trump started imposing his tariffs in early April the AIM index has shot up a hell of a lot - so funds are being diverted from the US market back into micro caps on this index. That's a hopeful sign if we can get the volume going again for MATD. AIM has shot up from around 3,000 in early April to just over 3,500 today. Last year it sold off heavily from about the time that we had our June peak.

Wigster ; the strange thing is that IMO the share price was generally much more lively in all those years prior to the land access being granted and the company finally starting to extract oil. I mean look at 2013 - there was a raise at I think 2.5p in February of that year, and then about 6 weeks later the share price spiked at around 7p. Yet this sudden and dramatic rise was based entirely on hot air, and absolutely nothing of any substance in terms of the fundamentals.

It makes me wonder whether these pre-production spikes that we used to see were simply the MMs creating some liquidity to sell into. They are trading the shares after all, and the best way to obtain liquidity is through stirring up FOMO interest via a sudden price hike, which then becomes a spike. We used to get quite a few of these spikes in the past, but since production started the share price has been very subdued.

Unbelievable that a year ago the share price was about double what it is now - with no legal access to the land granted, no 25 year licence granted and without any infrastructure built on Heron or oil extracted, and no sales agreement or revenue stream in place. There as no source of income, or even any idea of whether PM could ever get legal access to Heron - yet the company was valued at about double what it is today.

Tenbag ; I was referring to the Chinese regime, and not ordinary Chinese people in general, given that PC is state owned.

I have nothing but contempt for the regime - look at Xi today standing shoulder to shoulder with Putin. And the oil that they buy from Russia pays for the missiles which are murdering Ukrainian women, children and elderly people every day of the week. I dislike authoritarian, militaristic regimes wherever they are in the world quite frankly.

I might be proven to be wrong, but I'm not sure that the Chinese will want a JV. They are control freaks after all....

30 wells will cost $120m....And some might hit teething problems, as has happened with H1 & H2 so far. And a few may just not be commercial - a well is not guaranteed to be productive. So it needs a company with real financial muscle behind it.

That's why I'm hoping for a buyout. A JV at least would accelerate the process, but for me the company going it alone is a total non-starter.

It's always the same - whenever you get someone from another board commenting negatively about MATD you find that the share they are into is doing really badly.

The usual trolls have vanished because the penny has dropped with most people that the answer is to green bin them.

Hopefully WOS has finally realised that he should green bin them rather than doing scores of replies to them every week.

Keeping it in a tight range would suit the MMs if they are indeed flipping shares - buying on the bid and selling on the ask, and pocketing the fairly wide spread. They would probably like to do this ad infinitum if that's what they are doing.

A sudden surge in interest/demand would break that pattern. I wont say the name of the company, but there is one AIM share which has gone up 1,300% since the start of this year. It was fairly unloved for quite a while, but has suddenly experienced a huge surge in demand.

These block sells in rounded numbers have been going on for many months now ! It doesn't matter whether there has been any news or not - they have been consistently happening virtually every day. And as soon as it goes over 2p the price is beaten down with a barrage of sales. LTHs wont be selling shares in blocks of 300, 400 or 500K when they are locked in at a much higher entry.

There's a high chance that this is to do with a takeover. If not it must be the MMs flipping shares, thereby pocketing the quite large spread as they flip the shares.
