Yep it's a pretty good movie. I like Basterds slightly better I think and True Romance probably remains my favourite of his (although think he was just writer for that one) as watching it as a teenager blew me away.

The delay is likely indicative that they have found oil and are estimating how much as best they can with what they have and seems an overall positive to me.

Soder - my suggestion was an RNS from Eco could be coordinated at the same time as a release from Africa Oil. Allowing Keith Hill to talk to the discovery tomorrow.
I'll stand by it being possible as dual information provision and as the senior partner funding Eco it could be coordinated with other partners if the desire was there to do so.
It is little different to Exxon/Hess coordinating statements in Guyana. Agree the operator needs to RNS at least simultaneously if a listed entity

Don't see why not if Eco were to release the RNS simultaneously. The timing is perhaps too serendipitous and sitting on info waiting is challenging. For me, Gil hasn't appeared as his presentational style could reveal more than he wanted to say if ops not fully complete.

Well, I've heard nothing from any contacts so I think the ship is a bit tighter than in the past. Let's hope the hole isn't and is porous and full of the black stuff.

We can all speculate but it's tough to know. As someone says below, we know it wasn't a simple drill into a duster with no sidetrack.
The drill was scheduled at 25 days - from an already belated spud of 9th October. That would take us to 3rd Nov and a few days for the side track. We are at least a week beyond that.
Recall Hurricane losing a drill string and it not taking a huge amount of time to resolve. 7 days is quite a while, one third of original time estimated.
Hopefully problems have been overcome and sidetrack successfully completed.

Looks like their results are posted after the close in Canada tomorrow (so around 10pm GMT). There is a results call you can register for on Tue around 2pm GMT. So who knows what tomorrow holds

This is risk capital for me, if there is a drawdown there are other good opportunities out there short term to place funds and then return when more is known on Guyana/farm out. Hence, shall not slice will let it run.

With no news to date and the schedules noted, it does rather seem that the announcement may be made (good or bad) on Monday with Africa Oil presentation of results. At this stage and with time elapsed I'm hopeful for good but who knows.

I've been out of HUR for a long time now since Warwick drill but remember on BB the different thoughts around seeking to.measure draft to calculate.tonnage of initial shipments!
The sidetrack maybe 3,000m depth but not sure it is 3km away. They will already be at depth and just back up a bit and go down and across if I recall correctly. Still am sure it needs alot of kit as you say

The vessel probably weighs 3,500 tonnes.plus so it.would need to be carrying a hell of a lot to change the draft much would it not.. .

My thinking is the DD would be too onerous. There have been people in the Eco data room but I don't know if that is more Namibia than 3B/4B. Gil has been ear they want to monetise it but think this timeline, as delighted as I would be, is too soon.

It's reasonable to seek to read the runes but AFE probably don't know the outcome and are using the standard wording if High Impact, Material difference well.
If they did know then I think they would be required to disclose at their results. Africa Oil has been a major supporter so it may be they want to have the option of announcing if there is testing going on
