Many silvery moons ago at a presentation, I seem to remember DA saying that they were still in negotiation regards the tax take. That must have been about two years ago, if not three. Then there has been precious little movement whilst Oman has come to terms with what it wants and sets out its stall, with lots of reviews and soul searching. But following last years Tanfeedh, and the recent review of it, are we getting closer to action?
The link is to a pice in the Oman Observer and within that, there is the extract below- all about tax - One of the acknowledged blockages of a couple of years ago. The fact that all of this would seem to be being aired in public domain gives me an eerie feeling that the conclave has put a log on the fire and that some smoke might seep out. I am not going to hold my breath and fortunately the company is not reliant on it (now), but suspect it will be a good fillip as and when, should it actually happen.
