Thanks everyone this is really helpful. One day i hope to be able to answer other people's Qs :) Best of luck to all.
Thanks @Seeth - sorry for sounding stupid, i'm learning - if PrimaryBid is not the broker, and if the placing is only open to existing shareholders, how will they know i am a holder, if my broker is Lloyds?
Do you guys know if i can register for placing shares with Primary Bid and actually get accepted if my broker is Lloyds? They (Lloyds) refused to contact FinCapp on my behalf for GDR placing. Or is primaryBid a broker like how i am currently using Lloyds?
OK, thanks for taking the time to reply @Wolfie. Missed the boat BUT to be honest I'm finding the share trading, staring at graphs a little stressful now! At one stage I was looking at £20k profit which is now £10k, and slipped back to £7k, big money for me, and i was regretting not selling but I feel it will come good. My biggies are here and ODX. Big news to come for both. Actually thinking of removing my limit order currently set at 230 for AVCTA! Fingers crossed and GLA
Is it still possible to apply for shares as a small pi? I'm with Lloyds, and i tried to request placement shares with GDR but they wouldn't allow it. Any advice here is appreciated - also, what price would I be paying?
Wonder if this is why the price has dropped lately??? Trying to understand the recent downward trend - do MM know in advance a placing is coming?
Link??
I recently paid for L2 on here and dont understand any of it yet. I get the lines are coloured and grouped together with matching share prices - thats all i know at the mo. i DID JUST SEE A LOAD OF GREY LINES FROM PEEL HUNT ETC WITH A VALUE OF BETWEEN 200 - 230 ARE THESE ORDERS PLACED BY THE MM KNOWING ITS GOING TO HIT THAT LEVEL? Then the grey lines vanished, not sure what happened.
Thanks @TB - I hope you are right! The thing i dont get is it's going down with no news, but is that a bad sign that something is happening we don't know about? Like why would a share drop so much in a week? And why so much today. i am holding on here, but feeling quite stressed if im honest. Need this to get back up to £2!!!
But what is the reason for this large drop do you think? it's consistently dropped for a few days. Also, the more it drops, the less likely it will be to hit say £2? I'm not ramping, i am on the verge of panicking after seeing a nice £8k profit dwindle almost to a loss overall!
Ok, it appears most people say on here don't listen to anyone as know one knows. Yet so many say hold you shares and the mM are playing games. So who do I believe??? I am now starting to lose serious money so some serious advice would be appreciated
And another question which probably sounds stupid to most here, but WHAT actually dictates a sp??
Thanks for all the messages guys. I still down understand HOW the MM devalue stock? Literally how it works. I get they trigger stop losses but how do they drive the sp down to that point - how have the got control? Will certainly be watching those YOuTube links later!!
Thanks guys. It’s like having to learn a new language this! “Filling orders”, “stop losses”- I know this word, “spikes” etc. I might as well be a child when it comes to learning this side of investment. Can someone explain how does a MM actually push the price down? What’s the process for them to do so?
@Richob thanks for the post. I signed up to L2 recently and am trying to learn orders etc. I also don’t totally understand how MM works. I get they can see stop losses. That’s all I know. So they see the stop loss then force sp down (not sure how they do that), then if you can see these orders they wait to sell and then make massive profit having bought low by triggering stop losses - is this correct? If someone can give me a brief lesson tips on this that would be great :) gotta learn somehow

What’s people’s opinions?
Thoughts on why this is dropping?
Thanks Lev! Any one else have any tips or tricks on how to be more savvy about share dealing? Graphs. Charts. RNS alerts etc etc
Hi, I trade using Lloyds and have just signed up to LSE L2 to set up RNS alerts, which I have done. It only seems to allow an email alert and a text message would be much better - not sure if anyone knows if this is possible?
Also, a user called @GGGT suggested I join here as you can see the share price dropping with the market makers bids, and can spot order filling to avoid panic selling. And the reverse - when the share price starts to rise you can use it to identify resistance to sell at the right time before everyone starts diving out. Does anyone know specifically how you see this and if you can share any tips that would be much appreciated.
Thanks and enjoy the amazing sunshine, and I will try to get some sleep before the craziness starts again Monday sharp!
