We're in such a backwater here, that a very small amount of buying can push the price up. Supposedly £25k in, and £1k out. (I don't trust the figures, because they're produced by an algorithm).

One day the herd will arrive, and we'll all be drawing rockets on the chatboard (which one should never do, for it always brings bad luck).

I like the ironic use of "optimism." But things can change fast. A joint venture on Molyhil, some good drilling results at Ragged Range, a clear pathway to copper production at Alford East, plus some takeover rumours, and the share price would rocket. People will be cursing themselves for having sold too soon at 6p.

Yes, it's a good reply to Sotolo (whose posts I always like). I don't read the Daily Mail myself; occasionally the Telegraph (but on politics, not on finance). Most of my reading time is on Wikipedia, or Larousse, or DNB. It's all history and literature.

For investment purposes, it's the info put out by the company, plus commentary by others. What else does one have to go on?

Yes, he's very persuasive. But his track record is less than perfect. He sold a lot of GGP at 1p or thereabouts, before it rocketed.

I'm worried about Ukraine (and the Baltic republics, and Poland), but not about GGP. Taiwan is the other global flashpoint. These authoritarian regimes like to expand their territory. In Putin's case, it's a wish to return to the past, by re-building the Soviet empire.

We're lucky to be an island, on the western side of Europe.

It's not the same man. Francis Crozier (1796-1848) commanded HMS Terror, and lost his life on the Franklin expedition. Richard Crozier (1803-1880) commanded HMS Victor from 1834 to 1839, later rose to the rank of Vice-Admiral, and died in the Isle of Wight.

Thanks for the link to the tweet. I'd always assumed that Nicole lived in Adelaide; but the tweet is posted from Victor Harbor, which is fifty miles further south. It looks a lovely place to live, in the photos on Google. Named in 1837 by Captain Crozier, after his ship, HMS Victor.

I am, too. The political risk in OMI is higher (presidential elections next May); but the market cap is of course much lower. Makes sense to have both.

"Taxonomy" is correct English; it means a system of classification. But I agree this doesn't have much to do with getting permission to drill.

Yes, I've seen this before, and it's very true. The share price of GGP over the last two years (rise and then fall) is a classic example.
